CHAPTER 9
"Alright. First off, I wanna say I'm sorry." 5 states as I take a seat. Diego leans on the back of the chair behind me as Vanya and Allison take a seat on the couch. Luther sits on a chair off to the side and Klaus walks around carrying a bottle of alcohol. "I know I really screwed the pooch on this whole going-back-in-time-and-getting-stuck thing. But the real kick in the pants here is we bought the end of the world back here with us."
"Oh, my god, again?" Klaus questions turning to face us. I give him a small nod. "All of you knew? Why am I always the last one to find out about the end of the- Oh, my god. My cult is gonna be so pissed, 5! I told them we had until 2019."
"We have until Monday. We have 6 days." 5 states not caring.
"Is it Vanya?"
"Klaus." Allison warns.
"What? It's usually Vanya." I give Klaus a glare and shake my head as Vanya speaks up.
"Do you have any leads, 5?" Diego hands 5 a document before 5 hands it to Allison.
"Yeah."
"Holy shit, is that dad?" She asks looking at the opened file.
"Yeah."
"That's him?"
"Standing on the grassy knoll."
"Diego, Kat and I have been trying to talk to Dad about what exactly this means." 5 explains as I look up at him taking the information in. "So far, we've got nothing."
"Not nothing." Diego states, "We know he's planning to kill Kennedy."
"Maybe." 5 states, "But we don't know who or what sets doomsday in motion. Could be Kennedy, could be something entirely independent. But if we know something changes the timeline, we have to make it right."
"Yeah, but how, if we don't know what's broken?"
"Oh come on, do the math. We know Dad's having shady-ass meetings with some shady-ass people. We know he's on the grassy knoll in three days to kill the president. So I think we all know what we need to do." He stands straight leaning off the chair turning around to look at him. I follow him with my gaze as both himself and 5 speak at the same time.
"Find Dad."
"Kill Dad." My face scrunches up as I look at them both. We all watch the two waiting for what will come next.
