CHAPTER 19
"I know that we can be your family, if you just let us." She looks over to me as I nod. I watch her gaze move to my other siblings before landing back on Diego. I smile at the situation before I see 5 attacks someone out the corner of my eye. I turn to see him wrestling the Handler for a gun, he quickly grabs it and points it towards her. I step forwards as the Handler holds her hands up in surrender.
"Its true, isn't it?" Lila questions, "What 5 said? Answer me! Is it true?"
"Well--" She begins but is shot in the back. I gasp my eyes going wide as I recognise the Swedish man. The Handler grunts softly before falling to the ground. Lila runs towards her mother as Luther shouts out.
"The case!" Diego stops him mid-run as I run forward. We are not missing our chance again. Lila grabs the case as I stop just in front of her. A thud is heard as Luther and Diego fall on top of each other.
"I wish I had a camera." I state aloud watching the two. Lila teleports casting the barn into a blue glow. I cover my eyes only to open them a moment later to see her gone. 5 cocks the gun before pointing it at the Sweed. I freeze watching the two at a standstill.
"Enough." 5 states after dropping the gun to the floor. The man looks around the room before landing his eyes on me. I hold them there, my face hardening before he turns to look at 5. He speaks in Swedish before dropping the gun and walking out of the room.
"I almost had her. Why the hell did you stop me?" Luther questions still lying on Diego.
"Because..." He pauses to look at Luther, "I love her." I smile down at him. Luther sits up as Klaus speaks.
"Who the hell was that guy?"
"Vanya! Help!" Sissy's voice echos through the barn.
"Harlan." Vanya states running after the voice. Both Luther and Diego stand up as I follow her across the barn and down the stairs. I sigh noticing the shield around Harlan, inside sat Vanya.
"Whatever it is I gave you, I can take it back, okay? We just, we need to stop this." I watch the two in awe as Vanya attempts to control the vortex. All of a sudden energy pulsates towards us causing me to close my eyes as Vanya falls back. I look at a confused Harlan as Sissy runs over to him.
"Oh, baby. Oh, baby. Oh!" She pulls him into a hug as Vanya looks over at us causing me to smile.
I lean against the wall of the home looking out the window. We have all grown and changed so much during our time here. I think back to when this drama all started, Dad's funeral.
I get out of the taxi looking up at the place I once called home. I hold my suitcase in my hands before walking up the stairs. I open the front door before speaking.
