CHAPTER 13
I run beside Ben through the building. He opens the door before holding the side of his head. I give him a concerned look as we run outside. I push the aching pain down knowing we have to get there fast.
"Hey, uh, Prophet, Prophet, where you going?" I man questions causing us to stop. I sigh looking at the man annoyed.
"Uh, quick vision question. Be back in a few years. Maybe." I check my watch giving Ben a look saying 'let's go'.
"Well, wait, wait, wait!"
"Oh my god." I mutter stopping once more.
"Who will bless the pool waters?"
"You can do it, Keechie. You can do everything from now on."
"No, Prophet, I can't."
"Keechie," Ben states annoyed walking up to Keechie. Odd name. "Bless the water, bless the air, bless the sex swing for all I care. Would you just do me one favour?"
"Come on Prophet." I call out tapping my foot impatiently.
"Yes, of course, Prophet, anything."
"Tell Jill that rollin' in the dirt was the greatest moment of my life." I raise my eyebrow about to say something but decide against it. I don't even want to know. Ben begins to run back towards me as I prepare myself to begin running again.
"Uh-- Prophet, wait!" I groan loudly covering my face with my hands.
"No offence Keechie but-" Ben stops me as Keechie continues.
"Any last words of wisdom before you go?" I look at Ben expectedly as he looks at me.
"Oh, my God, we're back again. Brothers, sisters, everyone sing." I smile looking down recognising the words. "We're gonna bring you the flavour. We're gonna show you how." Ben stops only to grab my hand and run. Side by side through the estate as I laugh.
"BACK STREETS BACK ALRIGHT!"
"Are you alright?" I question watching Ben struggle to run in a straight line.
"K-Klaus."
"Ok well, tell him to knock it out because we're nearly there." I state out of breath. He groans and I pull him along by his shirt. "5 was very specific about timing." I let go knowing he is still running behind me. Ignoring them I focus on where we are. I turn the corner leading to the alleyway to see Luther and 5. Both Ben and I run up to them.
"Hey, Hey! We made it!"
"Where is Diego?" I question leaning my legs for support. The two ignore me as Klaus and Ben struggle with each other. I fall to the ground breathing hard. Everything hurt. Luther looks down at me with a concerned expression as I nod showing him ill be fine. All of a sudden Ben projectile vomits right beside me causing me to scream. Before it hits me Luther grabs my picking me off the ground with ease.
"I can't believe it. I mean, you're here." Luther states angrily towards Klaus putting me back on the ground. I sway to the side causing him to hold my upright supportively. The three of us watch Klaus's body fall to the ground.
"We've got eight minutes left." 5 states as I walk away from Luther as the pain shooting down my side subsides.
"I just had the strangest dream."
"Were not leaving without Diego." I state looking at 5, "Not without everyone!"
"Where is he?"
"I don't know Luther! He said he would meet us here." I state running my hand through my hair.
"Where are the others?" 5 yells angrily. I feel my own anger rise indie of me.
"I DON'T KNOW!" I yell back. I check my watch. "We have a minute left!" I state with an edge to my voice as Luther hits a dumpster.
"What's going on guys? Are we going somewhere?" I assume Klaus is back.
"It was a simple task. It was a simple task!" 5 states passing, "All we had to do was be here. Didn't have to fight a giant sea monster, no. An army of mutants? Nein."
"I can't believe this."
"It was handed to us on a silver platter."
"Could you just moan a little softer? My head is killing me." Klaus pipes up.
"Listen to me, you useless puke bag, we just blew our chance to save the world." My heart drops realising what 5 is saying. The briefcase positioned on the concrete floor begins to click causing me to look at in its direction. I take a few steps back and 5 curses.
"God damn it."
"Shit." 5 grabs the case and throws it in the air with a shout. Once up in the air it disappears. I groan holding my head.
"FUCK!" I yell into my hands.
"We were that close." 5 states with a sigh, "That close."
"Now what?" Luther questions as I slide down the brick wall into a sitting position.
"Now nothing, Luther, all right?" 5 replies, "Make your peace with God."
"What?" Luther replies, "What about Allison and Vanya?"
"Screw them both. They should have been here."
"What about Diego?" Klaus questions sitting up. "He's quite a responsible young man, no?" I giggle causing him to look over at me.
"Oh, you weren't joking?" I reply, "Look something must have happened to him, he wouldn't be late. Not to this."
"Screw Diego, all right?" 5 states, "Screw everybody. I was better off on my own in the apocalypse."
"5! Come on."
"You know what, Luther? It's every sibling for himself now. How about that?" I watch 5 walk off into the Elliotts apartment building as I stand up.
"Did 5 just get meaner?"
"I'm going to see why Allison didn't arrive in time." I state ignoring Klaus.
"Is that a good idea?"
"Knowing our history, probably not." I reply stepping over the vomit, "Klaus you're with me." Luther nods.
"Find the others and we'll meet back here. I'll handle Five." Luther runs towards the building as I look down at Klaus. He reaches his hand out for me to grab.
"I'm sorry but I'm not touching you." I state stepping back, "Not after that." He grunts standing up before looking down at the vomit puddle.
"And you, you have had your possession privileges revoked."
"Please don't tell me-" I begin thinking of Ben covered in vomit, "I think I'm gonna be sick." Klaus sighs before walking out of the alleyway. I run up to catch up to him.
"Stay out of me." Klaus yells, "Back off." I giggle at the bickering before speaking up.
"So I have a question."
"Yeah?"
"It Ben like here all the time? Like can he hear me talking?" Klaus looks behind us before looking back at the road in front of us.
