Staring at the laptop I look at the younger Bear. I haven't watched the second video yet, I really need to. I don't have time to waste, not after I saw the Founder of this club. I need to know more information, and I need to know soon. The longer I wait, the more danger I'm bringing to the club and it's people. I may be disgusted with who started it all, and it's people. But I made a promise to Bear, I'm not letting him down. He loved this place like his son, it was a part of him. He cherished the place.
I'm not going to let it get ruined because of something that I forced him into when he was younger. Shaking my head I look at the screen, I can't let him lose his legacy for something I dragged him into when we first met. Hitting play I lean back in the chair .Watching as the younger version of Bear rests his elbows on his knees releasing a heavy sigh. "I can't believe I did this." He shakes his head chuckling, not a happy chuckle either.
"We got the little girl set up on the land. None of us can move near her without her, shaking like a damn leaf. What did they do to her?" He sighs leaning back in his chair in thought.
"I've seen the scars, more than I care to look at. I don't know what happened to her, or for how long, what I do know is that I won't let it happen again." Bear pauses looking out the window away from the camera giving himself a distraction.
"My first payment is due in three weeks. I can't believe I made this damn deal. I don't think I can put my family through this. That girl's seen shit, gone through it, I can just end it. Make it quick when she ain't looking." He pulls out his gun like he's testing the weight of it. Bear's finger strokes over the trigger guard.
"I'll make sure she's not looking. She won't have to worry about it coming. She won't need to worry about anything. There won't be any pain, it'll be easy right?" He looks over the gun clicking the safety off before aiming it at the screen, like he's shooting me. He grunts shaking his head sitting straighter before placing the safety back on.
"I've killed before, it can't be different from overseas." I hear him growl before shaking his head and shutting off the camera. I get a cold chill realizing how prepared he was to kill me. What stopped him? I let out my own breath, swallowing my throat already feels tight. I close out the video pulling up the next one in line. This one has Bear sitting in the same chair, looking like he's been crying, wet tear tracks mark his face. He doesn't look like he's having a good day.
"It's been a few days since I've seen her. Finally figured out her name, Casey. Such a pretty name for a pretty girl. She spoke for the first time, and said thank you for saving me." He releases a shaky breath sniffling, like he's fighting tears.
"I had been so set on putting one through her damn head. Making it easier, I don't want to make that payment. I don't think I can. But seeing her sweet eyes looking up at me like I had given her the world." His bloodshot eyes finally release a tear, rolling down his face as he looks at his lap.
"I couldn't be so cruel to take away her life when she's finally starting to view it. I'd be worse than those bastards - giving her hope just to steal it away. That ain't right. I couldn't take her life today, I'll try again real soon. I don't want to make a damn payment, not to them, or running for them." Bear grunts shutting the camera off. A tear rolls down my cheek, I know what he's talking about. The day he showed up, looking like a bear of a man. He came barreling in, looking ready for a fight.
He turned towards me and asked me what my name was. I had been spending time with Forger, and he managed to get me talking, to say something to him. When Bear showed up I got my nerve, and I told him. Bear looked shocked, surprised that I had opened my mouth to say anything. Normally I just winced, quivered and whimpered around any of them. Too afraid to say or do anything around them. I looked his way and mumbled my name before taking a deep breath and telling him thank you.
