I woke up just before dawn. It was still dark out but I knew I wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep again. I put my drops in and threw my hair up in a messy bun before walking out. I sat on the steps of our quaint hotel and started sharpening my kunai knives.

The weather was absolutely perfect this morning. It was sunny but had a coolness to it and a slight breeze. Perfect weather to be outside outside thinking.

What am I gonna do?

I have to protect Itachi but I also want to keep Sasuke happy. Sasuke would hate me if I were to come between him and his revenge. Not to mention Itachi wouldn't be very happy either. Couldn't there possibly be a way to both save Itachi and Sasuke? After all, Sasuke is gonna be so hurt when he finds out the truth.

It's just impossible.

Choosing between the wellbeing of two people I care about was causing me pain. I don't want to ever live in a world where Sasuke hates my guts for taking away the one task he set out his entire life to complete. At the same time, knowing that I had the power to stop Itachi from being killed and Sasuke's future guilt was not something I wanted on my conscience forever either. Making choices by using my brain was hard, but using my heart could be the death of me. I always just pushed the thought of Itachi's final day out of my mind, forgetting about it almost. Yet by being so close to Sasuke and feeling the hatred he felt radiating off of him, I knew...just knew that the day was coming...and it was coming quickly.

Or maybe it's not.....

The only problem is that I'll need another person. Or more. I do know one person who would help for sure. I'll have to write her a letter.

Grabbing a paper and pen from my room, I wrote a quick note and gave it to the hotel owner to drop it in the mail.

I sighed and rubbed my temples. What a headache.

"You're up early." I heard behind me. I turned to see Sasuke standing with Jugo.

"We're gonna leave in a bit. Get your stuff together." Sasuke said with a slight smile.

I smiled back and ran to get my bag. Most of it was already packed seeing as I didn't take much out. Just my necessities.

I hurried out to meet up with them and we were soon on our way.

(2 Weeks later)

Even though it had only been a few weeks, it started to feel different. The temperature had dropped dramatically and was now below freezing. Sasuke and I had grown closer but I feel almost as though he's hiding something. It was a nagging, itching feeling that I couldn't necessarily push away but I've done my best to just ignore it.

At this moment we were setting up camp not too far off of the path leading towards the Akatsuki hideout. We were still pretty far off but not far enough for me.

"Echo. Come help me get some wood for the fire." Sasuke said walking away from the camp. I felt Karin's glare burning my back as I followed after him.

As I walked after him, I narrowed my eyes at his back. He's up to something.

We got to river and he turned around to face me.

"I'm sorry Echo but I have to kill him." I heard him say softly before I heard a smack and my vision started slowly fading.

"I'm sorry. I'll come find you afterward." I heard before my world became black and silent.

Hehe. Hey guys!

So what do you think? Anyone else think Sasuke is a total asshole right now? What do you think Echo's gonna do about it?

Next update might be a double update but it also may be the one after that. BUT THERE WILL BE ONE.

Thank you to all of you that wished me well. It's means a lot to me! Thanks for being understanding guys!

Love you, kawaii potatoes!
