Chapter 26: Hmm

A/N: IM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING. I have my reasons but lets just say the main one is highschool sucks ;-; But anyway you're gonna love this chapter. I have a little surprise for you guys. Enjoy ^-^

A hard knock echoed through my small hotel room.

"Come one Echo. Hurry up. It's just dinner." Sasuke said through the door.

"BUT MY HAIR LOOKS LIKE SHIT." I yelled back laughing at my lions mane I call hair.

"JUST PUT ON A HAT" he yelled back.

"NO. HATS LOOK HORRIBLE ON ME. Well except beanies..." I said mumbling the last bit.

I could practically feel Sasuke facepalming.

"Just hurry." He said and I heard his foot step walking away from my room.

I giggled and brushed out my messy hair. Then ran a quick flat iron over it and tugged on a cute purple beanie to match my eyes. I also put on black eyeliner and mascara to make my eyes stand out more.

I walked out the bathroom and threw on my simple, (also matching) purple dress before stepping out.

"Where the hell are you going dressed like that?" Karin said seeming to appear out of now where.

"None of your business." I said shrugging and brushing by her.

She huffed and glared at me before scurrying down the hall in the opposite direction.

"Shit. My letters." I said as I ran back to my room and hide them under the nightstand. (A/N: Hehe. You'll see.)

Another knock echoed through the room.

"Echo come on. We need to go." Sasuke said sounding annoyed.

"Okay, okay!" I said laughing a little as I swung the door open.

Sasuke just stood there silently looking at me.

"Hm? Something wrong?" I asked giving him a concerned look.

"Uh no. Let's go." Sasuke said not meeting my eyes. I shrugged and followed after him.

"Hmm...chicken tenders." I said handing her back the menu.

"Chicken tenders?" Sasuke questioned with a chuckle.

"They're good for all ages." I said with a pout. He just chuckled and ordered a steak.

Dinner was fairly quiet. Just small talk. Nothing awkward though.

Sasuke and I were now on our way back, walking through the now empty streets. The sun had already set and the bright moon shined down on us.

I smiled and jumped up on a fence and walked down it, balancing carefully.

"Your gonna fall." Sasuke said.

I just stuck my tongue out at him and jumped down beside him.

It was silent a a moment. I wanted to break it but it felt like Sasuke needed to say something. For that reason I stayed silent and waited, looking over at him.

"Can I ask you a question?" Sasuke said quietly.

"Of course." I said immediately.

"Why do you wanna protect Itachi?" He questioned me looking straight into my eyes with a dead seriousness in them.

I stayed silent and looked up at the night sky. It was clear tonight and I could see hundreds of stars twinkling.

"I think that sometimes good people can do very bad things. But they can also do great things. Everyone has they're own morals and makes their own decisions based on their situation but I also believe that it's not our job to judge or punish someone until you know the full reasons of why they did what they did." I said still not meeting his eyes.

"But I know for sure he did. It's his fault they're dead!" He said angrily.

"That isn't what I mean. Did you ever get to ask him why he did it? Like that time he went after the nine tails. Did you ask him?"

"No. And I don't need to."

"Sasuke you're not listening to a word I'm saying" I said starting to get agitated.

"Good. That's what I was aiming for. I don't need you coming around and telling me I'm wrong!" He said angrily, taking a step closer to me.

"I wasn't saying you were wrong. I was saying you need to question things so you don't do something you'll regret later." I said nastily.

He knocked me back gently to the wall of a building and put his two arms beside my head, boxing me in.

I glared up at him straight in the eyes.

"You don't know what your talking about." He said hotly.

I sighed slightly and said "I think we both know I do."

Our glares dropped and we stood there just looking at each other, breathing heavily from the argument.

"Why do you have to be so annoying?" Sasuke said with a smile before he pressed his warm lips to mine. I blinked in surprise.

Is he....kissing me?

What should I do though. It's gonna put me through hell to try and convince him not to go after Itachi after he's kissed me. However his arms still boxed me in so I couldn't go anywhere even if I wanted to.

........screw it.

I gladly kissed him back with a happy smile.
