Chapter 32: Eh who?

Echo's POV

"Is she from your old village?" Sasuke asked looking at her with suspiciousness.

"Yeah. She is."

I attempted to get up but my vision grew fuzzy. I blinked it away as Sasuke grabbed my hand to help me sit up.

Once he made sure I was up, he turned to glare at the cloaked women leaning against the wall.

"But didn't you say that it was a horrible village?" He asked, not taking his eyes off her.

"It is but she's the one person who wanted no part of it. She was the one that helped me escape." I said running a hand through my messy hair. I giggled softly. "She's also my sister." I added with a knowing smirk.

I was met with two surprised stares.

"Your sister? You have a sister?" Sasuke asked frowning in confusion.

I nodded. "Just because I don't talk about her doesn't mean she doesn't exist." I said with a smile.

"But....typically you tell atleast someone you have a sister." Sasuke said looking back to me.

"Eh. I don't see her much so." I said shrugging.

"Why? You seem to have good standings with each other." Itachi asked curiously looking at me but I could see him studying her from the corner of his eyes.

"Uh actually I don't think we are. I'm pretty sure last time I talked to her, we got in a fist fight." I said looking at her and think hard trying to remember.

"Yeah but technically you were kinda drunk so." She shrugged. "All is forgiven."

"I was drunk? I thought that was the time I got drugged." I said in deep thought.

"No that was when you jumped in the pond and proclaimed you were quitting missions to become a goldfish." She said with a completely straight face.

"Well I do have the memory of a goldfish." I said shrugging.

"....I think I can see a bit of relation." Sasuke muttered under his breath.

I giggled and grinned.

"She may not be as crazy as me but she's use to being around craziness." I said looking at my sister.

"You never even told us her name." Sasuke said sweat dropping.

I facepalmed. "Of course! Ugh. Forgetful. This is my sister, Luna. Luna, this is Sasuke and Itachi Uchiha." I introduced.

All three of them nodded at each other and it grew silent. Luna was off in a daydream, Itachi was looking at the ground, and Sasuke was just looking at me.

I guess we'll have to talk about this at some point. I let out a soft sigh and sent Luna a look. Feeling my eyes on her, she looked up and knew immediately what I wanted.

"Itachi, how about I take you down to a stream to rinse off the blood." Luna said standing from where she had been leaning.

Itachi gave her a curious look but nodded. Luna helped him up and followed him out the cave.

As soon as they were gone, I started.

"Sasuke." I simply said.

He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah?"

I diverted my eyes from his and spoke in an emotionless voice, "What do you plan to do? I mean, you don't seem to want to kill Itachi so what now?"

"That depends. What do you want to do?" He asked me.

I laid back and crossed my arms behind my head, staring up at the rough, dark gray cave ceiling above me.

"You probably won't like what you hear." I stated, not moving my eyes.

"Try me." He said with a slight smile.

I stared up and thought hard.

"I want to settle down. I'm tired of constantly moving and traveling." I said with a sigh.

"You don't wanna be a ninja?" He asked confusedly.

"No no no. I just..." I closed my eyes for a moment and searched for the right words before reopening them again.

"I guess I just want a home."

Sasuke smirked. "I think I know what I want too. Let's go." He stood up, picking me up with him before grabbing our bags.

"Wait but what-"

"Nope. No questions." Sasuke said interrupting me.

"But Luna and-"

"They'll come with us." Sasuke said interrupting yet again.

"But where are we going?" I asked curiously.

"You'll see." Sasuke said with a smile as he pulled me out of the cave into the shining sunlight.
