Gone (Sasuke Uchiha x reader)

Prologue

Sasuke's POV

Today's the day that I get released from prison and I embark on my journey of redemption. I arrived at the gate of Konoha and seen Sakura and Kakashi standing there. I nodded at Kakashi and then turned to Sakura.

"When will you be back?" She asked softly.

"Well, you'll see me around within the next year. I want to by ___'s side when she gives birth." I responded.

Her small smile fell and her blush faded away slowly. "Oh, right. You're gonna be a father." I nodded and smiled slightly.

"Believe it or not, I'm excited. She's... my soulmate. I want to make up for my wrongdoings so that we'll have a bright future together."

Sakura smiled. "Good luck then. I wish you the best."

"Sakura.... thank you," I said.

I walked away from the gates and stood face to face with Naruto. I nodded, and we shook hands. Before I got the chance to say anything, ___ jumped out of a tree and landed on Naruto's back.

"SASUKE," she exclaimed. "I've decided I'm coming with you."

She jumped off of Naruto's back and walked over to me. "No," I said.

"But why?"

"you're pregnant and it could be dangerous. I don't want you or our future child to be put in danger."

"That reason is invalid. I fought a war when I was pregnant! So why can't I come?"

I sighed and caressed her cheek. "Please... just stay here where I know you'll be safe."

She sighed and leaned her forehead against my chin since I'm significantly taller than her. "Fine. I guess I shouldn't leave my best friend anyway," She responded and glanced over at Naruto.

"Exactly," I said. I leaned down and gave her a short kiss, then she hugged me tightly. "I'll miss you." She mumbled and then pulled away.

I poked her forehead, just like Itachi once did to me, and smile slightly. "I'll miss you more, and... I love you," I said, then put my hand on her lower stomach, "And I love you."

____ smiled. "Ill see you in... 7-8 months," She said. I nodded, then caressed her cheek one last time before walking away.

"C'mon (NN) (your nickname)! Let me walk you home." I heard her best friend, Naruto, say.

I smiled. I knew she would be safe here.

Well, that's what I thought at least. Little did I know, that this would be the last time I'll see her for a long time.
