Chapter fourteen

Sasuke stood in the back of the room, glaring at Gaara. 'I'm so close to getting her back, and then here he comes.' He thought bitterly while crossing his arms.

"You okay?" Naruto asked.

"Hn. Fine."

Naruto looked at him for a second, then at you. He did it again.

And again.

And again.

"Ooohhhhhh! Teme, are you upset about Gaara coming?"

Sasuke scoffed. "What do you think?"

"No need to be upset. We both know (N/N) loves you."

"Mhm."

"She loves you, Teme. Don't worry."

"Hn."

"How long are you staying?" You asked Gaara. "I'd love to spend some time with you before you went back."

"I can stay for a few days," Gaara said.

"Yay!" You exclaimed while hugging him again.

Shikamaru smiled and leaned against his wife. "Everyone seems happier now, it's weird."

"Yea, It's been a while since I've seen Naruto smile like that."

"It's kind of like back when we were kids," Shikamaru said while smiling.

Throughout the rest of the party, you talked to everyone and met their kids. It was great, in your opinion, until she showed up.

"So this is the party you guys were talking about," Sakura said as she stood at your wide-open front door. You were so busy talking to Sasuke, Gaara, and Naruto, that you didn't even notice her at first.

"S-Sakura!" Ino said. "What a surprise."

"Why are you here?" Temari asked.

"What's with all the hostility?" Choji said. "Come join the party!"

"I was just looking for Sasuke," Sakura said.

"He's over there with ___, Gaara, and Naruto," Choji said with a smile.

"Gaara?" Sakura said.

Temari nodded. "Yea. I invited him," She said while looking over at him.

"Good. Now, maybe I can spend some time with my husband." Sakura said before walking inside. Temari went to stop her, but Ino grabbed her arm. "Let's not start anything."

Temari huffed before walking over towards you.

All of the kids, and a few of your friends, crowded around you guys.

"So anyway, that guy had come to the village starting trouble, so I went to go handle him," Naruto said. He and Sasuke were telling what happened the day you came home.

"I knew the Dobe wouldn't be able to handle this on his own, so I went to help. He's lucky I was in town."

"Hey! I could've! Anyways, during the fight, he said, and I quote. 'Hahahaha. Fight me all you want. I already won.'"

You burst into laughter at Naruto mocking his laugh. Naruto chuckled.

"At that moment, he sounded idiotic. So, I asked 'How did you win?'" Sasuke said.

"Then, ____ appeared," Naruto said. His voice got quieter. "When I saw her, it was like everything stopped. The fight was over and I didn't care about what he had to say. All that mattered was getting her away safely."
