Liam didn't argue when I said that I wanted to stay with Daniel and Valerie for our last night in the safe house. I agreed to his original proposal: to stay with him when we get to the new location. I honestly don't have a problem with that.
When I wake up, there is too much noise, not just coming from Daniel and Valerie, but outside of the bedroom.
"Liam packed up your things and they're already in the car," Daniel tells me as soon as I get out of bed.
"But I have to get dressed," I complain and Daniel rolls his eyes. "And what time is it?"
"It doesn't matter. Just meet Liam downstairs," he instructs and I do as he says, leaving my bed the way it is.
"Where is Ed?!" I hear Liam shout as I come down the staircase.
"Right here!" Edward runs from behind me, throwing me off balance, and goes down the stairs in a hurry. I stop on the first step, taking in all the chaos.
"Get in touch with Carter," Liam tells Edward. "Just say we're coming."
Edward nods and runs back up the stairs. "Who's Carter?" I ask Liam, stepping off of the staircase.
"Someone who works for Berkshire," he says as if there isn't a problem with what he just told me.
"Who works for Berkshire?" I exaggerate. "Do you realize wha-"
Liam cuts me off. "Who is of no threat to us."
"How do you know?" I ask.
He sighs. "Just because someone works for Berkshire doesn't mean they are on his side," he says and my eyes grow wide.
"So this Carter person is on our side?"
"Correct," he smiles. "Think of it as a ... rebellion."
I nod as I take in this new information. "So what would you like me to do?" I ask.
"Right now? Just get in the car," he says and I walk by him to leave the house. "Rosalie?"
I turn around before walking out the door. "Yes?"
"How are you feeling?" he asks, and I smile.
"It hurts, but I can handle it." I wink and turn, swaying my hips a bit knowing that Liam is still looking at me. When I go outside, I giggle and walk over to the almost packed car that is waiting at the brink of sunrise.
---
"Be safe and let us know if anything comes up, alright Sam?" My window is rolled down in the passenger seat, and I hear Liam having a conversation. "Let's roll out, everyone!" Liam comes around the front of the car and sits in the driver's seat, next to me.
"Ready?" Liam turns around to look at everyone who is squished. I smile to myself, thankful that I'm not sitting back there. "You got ahold of Carter?" Liam asks Edward as he starts the engine and pulls out of the parking space.
"They're expecting us," he says.
"Where are we going?" I ask Liam when he faces forward and concentrates on leaving the safe house behind.
"A warehouse in Dallas," he tells me and I slowly nod. "It's about a fifteen to sixteen hour drive, so be prepared," he announces loudly. Everyone in the back seats start having their own conversations, and I decide to have my own with Liam.
"Are we going to stop along the way?" I ask him and he shakes his head.
"We'll stop on the side of the road or something to take a short break, but we have to keep going," he says sadly. "I'm sorry we couldn't continue your training today."
