"How was everything with Liam?" Val asks as soon as I enter the bedroom and sit on the bed.
"Pretty good, actually." I must admit, it felt good to start somewhere.
"That's good," she says. "You must be exhausted."
I nod and fall back, my head hitting the pillow. "Want to hear something?" I ask her and I see her nod from the corner of my eye as I stare at the ceiling. "Liam never made an actual move on me today."
I turn to look at Valerie who is sitting on the edge of her bed. "You're kidding!" she says and looks completely surprised.
"Right?!" I throw my hands in the air. "How do you think I feel?"
"He's a confusing individual," she says and I snort.
"You have no idea," I say and roll my eyes at the same time. "Where's Daniel?"
She shrugs. "I think he wanted to talk to Liam or something."
I nod and sit up again to take off my sneakers. "How do you feel?" Val asks.
"Very good," I say and smile at her. "It feels weird, though."
"Why do you say that?"
"I don't know. I'm so used to getting into fights with Liam," I joke and she starts to laugh.
"So am I," she admits and the two of us laugh hysterically, but quiet down when we hear soft knocks on the other side of the door. "Come in," she says.
The door opens slowly and Liam enters. My eyes grow wide when I see that he has already changed into different clothes: a black leather jacket, a black shirt, and black pants with white Adidas sneakers. His hair is brushed to the right, and I can't help but admire how incredibly ... "May I ask what's so funny?" he asks and smiles, interrupting my thoughts.
I shake my head and smile at him. "That's none of your business. And how did you change so fast?"
He shrugs. "I knew what I wanted to wear and I don't waste any time," he says. "Unlike some people."
"If you wanted to come in here to pick on me, you succeeded. You can leave now," I say and get up from the bed. I go over to him and push him to the door.
"Hey, it's not my fault you get dressed slowly!" He puts up his hands as if to defend himself. "But that's not why I came here."
I stop pushing him and elbow his arm playfully. "Speak," I say.
He smiles down at me. "I was wondering if you wanted to go into the town with me to go grocery shopping," he says thoughtfully.
"I'm sorry," I manage to say. "What?"
He laughs. "Yes, there's a town," he says and rolls his eyes.
I look at Valerie and she's wiggling her eyebrows at me. "I don't know what to wear," I say to Liam. "Why do you want me to come with you?"
"Just trying to be nice," he says. "Why?"
"This was very ... unexpected," I admit and I feel my face begin to heat up again. What is he doing to me? I'm not supposed to be affected by him like this. "But yes, I'll come. Give me a few minutes." He nods and turns to leave, but I can see him smirking. I walk Liam to the door and before I close it behind him, he turns back to me.
"See you soon, love," he says and winks, making me blush. I nod and close the door on him. I turn around and lean against it.
"That was something," Valerie breaks the silence.
