People never change. They just become more of who they really are.

"I can't believe you hit him," Valerie says, leaning on the kitchen counter. "Did you leave a mark on his face?"
I shrug. "I left before I could see anything."
"I better go upstairs," Daniel says from the other side of the kitchen, leaving Val and I alone.
The two of us don't say anything for a few seconds until Valerie speaks first. "I actually wish I was there to have seen you slap him," she laughs and I join her. "I would've paid big money to see that."
"It was a priceless moment," I admit and Daniel comes back into the kitchen.
"He's angry, but he feels bad," he tells me. "You left a handprint on his cheek."
I smirk. "Good," I say firmly.
"He also wanted me to tell you that your training starts tomorrow," Daniel says, catching me off guard. "And his original proposal still stands."
"Excuse me?" I ask with disbelief, ignoring the additional comment. I can deal with that.
"You heard right," he says and looks somewhat happy to tell me so. "I'll be training Val while he'll be training you."
Valerie and I look at each other and smile. Perfect. "Does he still want to talk to me?"
He shakes his head. "I think he just wants to be by himself for the rest of the day."
I nod. "Good," I say again. "Is he mad at himself?"
"For how he acted? Of course he does," Daniel says. "He feels bad whenever you walk out on him."
"He can blame himself," I say nastily.
Daniel shakes his head. "The two of you need to learn how to talk more. It'll help lower the argument rate."
I nod. He's right ... We don't talk. "I thought we were going to the new location in two days."
Now it's Daniel's turn to nod. "Yes, and?"
"Well, why don't we start training when we get to the new place?" I ask him.
"I think that's Liam's way of trying to talk to you," he says.
I laugh. "Text Liam and tell him that I'll be ready." Daniel smiles and does so.
"Will you two ever admit how you really feel about each other?" Valerie asks and I sigh.
"I don't think admitting how we feel is more important than what is going on," I tell her and she nods. "It should've always been that way."
"You clearly have feelings for him as he does for you," Val says. "I don't see why it's so har-"
"Stop," I cut her off. "If I were to tell Liam how I feel about him, he'd take advantage of my feelings. I don't like being told what to do. That's not me. As you can see, he likes to be in control of everything and I don't want him to control me, too."
Daniel and Valerie look at each other from across the kitchen, but they don't say anything. Daniel looks at his phone and then looks up at me. "It's getting late and I think we should all get some rest," he suggests and I nod in agreement.
The three of us shuffle out of the kitchen and head upstairs. As soon as we get to our bedroom, I'm the first one to speak again. "Are you sure you two don't mind me staying with you?" I ask, quickly changing into my pajamas.
