Chapter 3

"Y/N!"

"YYYYY/NNNNN"

"Y/N WAKE UPPP!"

"Y/N!!!" Carter yelled for the millionth time, causing me to jolt upwards. A loud gasp escaping my lips.

"Finally! It's about time you woke up." Carter whined, crossing his arms.

"What the hell Carter?! You scared me!" I complained, pushing my tangled hair behind my ear.

"Well im sorry! I had to wake you up somehow!" He replied, reaching his arms out.

"Now hurry up, breakfast is ready." Carter added, throwing my blankets off my warm body.

"Jesus Christ its cold! Fine! I'll get up! Can you pass me my dressing gown though..?" I asked, Carter stared at me, crossing his arms once more.

"P-Please..?" I asked once more, using my manners in hopes it would change his mind.

Carter sighed, grabbing my navy-blue dressing gown off my door, and throwing it at me.

"Thank youuu." I thanked, instantly sticking my arms through the fluffy sleeves.

Following Carter out into the kitchen, he handed me a bowl of weet-bix topped with sugar and sliced banana.

"Eat up, you have to leave for work in 20 minutes." Carter stated, slicing up some banana for his own bowl.

"So, Carter.. I've been curious... Why do you make me do all of this?" I mumbled while chewing.

"Please don't talk with your mouth full." He started, dropping all of his banana into his bowl before coming to sit next to me.

"And to answer your question, it's because you're my best and only friend. I care about you." He explained, waiting a second before taking a bite of his cereal.

"That and im the eldest of 3 kids by a couple years.. Im used to taking care of people.." He mumbled afterwards, trying to hide his mouth with his spoon.

"Eh, its fine, I get it."

"I gotta go get ready." I said, placing my bowl in the sink as I left for the bathroom.

Just opening the bathroom door, I heard Carter call out to me.

"Your spare uniform is handing on the back of the door!" He shouted out.

"Thank you!" I yelled back.

Taking my black shirt and pants of the towel rack.

I stared into the clean mirror, buttoning up my shirt to the very top. Tilting my head up to make it easier.

After doing the boring basics of my morning routine, I took my carry bag went to go say goodbye to Carter.

"Im heading out, see ya." I said, waving him off.

"Have a great day at work!" He called out

"I will!" I responded, closing the thick wooden door behind me.

After a short walks time, I made my way to the café from yesterday. Knowing I would be late if I stopped, I continued walking past, writing myself a mental note to go after work.

After a few more minutes of walking, I crossed over to the other side of the road, making my way inside.

Stepping foot inside, the loud chatter of the crowd of customers flooded into my ear, I flinched at the sudden loud sound.

Slipping past a couple people, I made my way into the staff room to put my stuff away.

The room was small, a couple benches and chairs dotted around while the old fridge stood in place. I usually didn't bring food to work for lunch, but I knew others who did.
