Chapter 9

After a while of looking around, Nick came back from his call. And rather quickly too...

"Sorry, I just had a friend call to remind me of something..." Nick explained.

"Is your Minecraft done downloading yet?" He added.

"Yeah, its done, I'm just opening it now," I said, half closing my laptop screen to pay more attention to Nick.

"Sweet, lemme show you my set up." 

"Hm..?" It took a moment for me to respond, completely forgetting that it made complete sense for him to have a setup.

"Oh right! You guys record videos!" I exclaimed, finally remembering. I slapped the side of my head at my own stupidity.

"I completely forgot," I stated as I stood up and followed him, laptop in hand.

I chuckled to myself to cover up the mild silence.

"Wow, this is quite the setup," I exclaimed, staring in awe at his expensive setup.

"Yeah."

"You can put your laptop on that side of the desk if you want." Nick offered, pulling up a stool for me to sit on. I thanked him and sat down.

As I signed into my old Minecraft account, I left my screen on the menu page, waiting for Nick to help me through.

He took a minute to set his own computer up.

"Okay, now first thing is that you need to connect to the internet here." Nick started, turning my laptop to face him.

"Oh right, you're already connected.. heh.." Nick mumbled in embarrassment before he turned my laptop back to me.

"Okay, now click the Multiplayer bar." He directed next, clicking the same button on his screen.

"Okay..? Now what. I have no servers.." I asked.

Nick clicked a couple of things on his screen, I wasn't fully sure of what he did but it opened up the servers IP

"Click 'Add Server' and type this IP in."

"Then join."

I followed his instructions, typing in the IP.

"Hey what server is this..?" I asked, about to join.

"It's a private server, me and my friends usually just screw around on here every now and again." Nick explained, I nodded as I clicked the 'Join Server' button. It took a second to load.

As soon as we both joined, Nick let out an 'oh'

"What? What happened?" I asked, worried something bad had happened.

"Nothing, my friends are on, that's all."

"Oh.. Okay," I mumbled.

<Dream> ?

<Dream> Sapnap who's this?

I looked at the chat

"Hey, Nick, how do I talk in chat again?" I asked awkwardly.

"You press 'T'" He replied, pressing it on my keyboard.

<Sapnap> Just a friend I made.

<Username> Hi

<Dream> vc

I gave Nick a nervous look, he opened discord.

He joined a call and put on his headphones.

I had no idea what Dream was saying, and I couldn't really tell much from Nicks responses.

After a little bit of back and forth chatter Nick took off his headset and handed it to me.

"Dream wants to talk to you." He stated.

I was honestly VERY hesitant about talking to Dream for the first time. I had no idea what he was like, what his personality was, if he was nice and just wanted to chat, I didn't know!

Calm down, he just wants to talk

I took a deep breath and took the headset off of Nick and placed it on my head.

Leaning forwards towards the mic, I spoke.

"Hello?" I started, my voice slightly shaking.

"Hi, you're Sapnap's friend?" He asked, I nodded and hummed in response.

"Okay cool, well hi, I'm Dream. I just wanted to check and make sure Sap didn't leak the IP or anything." He explained.

I liked his voice, he was cool.

"That's fine, I was kind of nervous when Nick handed me the headset to be honest.," I added awkwardly.

Dream laughed, I nervously chuckled along with him.

"So why are you at his place anyway?" Dream asked, I looked up at Nick, he was focused on the game as I talked.

"Oh, We've been friends for about a week now."

"Nick and I were hanging out and he invited me over to play Minecraft," I replied.

"O.. Oh, that's not how I thought that sentence was going to end at all." He joked before breaking into laughter.

"What???" I laughed back, shocked as his wheezing laughter grew more extreme.

"Oh my god..!"

Nick looked over to me confused, distracted from his screen.

On his screen Dream was stood still on a tree, watching over a large plains biome.

Nick ran over to him and started knocking him off the tree, killing him.

Dream snapped back into reality, running away from Nick.

"-APNAP!!" Dream screamed in my ears, his audio cutting out.

"ow.." I mumbled, rubbing my ears, Nick started chuckling to himself.

- Dream was slain by Sapnap -

"Sorry, Username." Dream apologised

"Oh, it's alright."

"And you can just call me Y/N if it makes things easier."

"Sure, as long as that's fine by you." Dream replied.

"I'm gonna pass you back over to Nick now," I said, gaining Nicks attention. Taking the headset off I passed it back to him.

Now that I had some time, I took this time to have a look around. I still remember the controls and basic stuff, but things looked a lot different from how I remembered.

Nice to know someone turned down the saturation..

Wandering around for a little, I found a bunch of small structures and nerd poles. There I found Dream, Nick, and who I'm assuming was Nicks other friend, George.

George came over to me and threw me a bunch of tools and diamond armour, half damaged.

Username has just made the advancement [Cover Me With Diamonds]

<Username> Hi George.

I typed in chat; George stood still as he responded.

<GeorgeNotFound> Hi Username :)

I smiled at the chat. 

It's hard to believe that these guys are popular, and I don't even know how popular they are! I'm just going off of what Nick told me, so I'll have to investigate further another time.

If they are as popular as they claim then I guess I'm considered lucky to come across Nick. He's a good guy and I'm glad I met him.
