Checking each end of the street for cars, I waited until the road was clear to cross. Seeing as the closest zebra crossing was much further down the road, I thought it would be easier to just cross here.

When I crossed, I looked around for Nick. I didn't see him anywhere.

Nick knew where to find me so I thought I might as well just wait anyways.

Resting my back against a nearby tree, I slid down to the floor and sat in a comfortable position. Once seated, I just played on my phone for a while, using my pointless storage stealing games to fill up my time. My phone buzzed as a discord notification fell from the top of my screen.

"Almost there, around 5 minutes away."

I unlocked my phone and responded

"Ok, just at the entrance of the trail."

Every time someone would come into the corner of my eye; I would cock my head up. And every time I would see it wasn't Nick, I would drop my head back down again. But after a while of waiting, Nick showed up.

I stood up, dusting myself off to look presentable.

"Yo wassup," he greeted.

"You seem happier." I responded, lightly crossing my arms.

"That's because I got a full night's sleep."

I let out a surprised hum. Although I hadn't known him for long he didn't really seem like to type to get a full night's sleep. I looked him up and down. Yeah, he sure did look fully rested..

"seems like it."

He chuckled before moving over to the walking trail. I followed behind as we began walking our first lap.

"So, what have you been up to over the past week?" Nick started, hoping to make conversation.

"Not much really, same as usual, work and sleep."

"This is actually the first time I've gotten out in while.." I answered, letting my posture fall.

"Well I can't say I've done any different myself." Nick agreed.

A short silence was brought in between us.

"Didn't you say you had those two friends? George and Clay?" I started. I was wondering about them a while ago actually. When Nick and I first spoke, he mentioned them, but he didn't tell me anything about them..

"They don't live in Texas though, they're my online friends." He clarified; I gave an understanding nod.

"Though I have met up with George before."

"What do you guys normally do?" I asked, throwing my slightly cold hands into my jean pockets.

"We uhh, we make Minecraft videos." Nick answered.

Wait, what...? They make Minecraft videos? Whaaat...?????

"Minecraft? That kids game?" I asked, nudging him to continue.

"Well yeah Minecraft, but it isn't really a kid's game, people just think that from all the cringy kids." Nick explained. Wait, I thought it was just some kids game? I mean, I played it as a kid so I assumed that it wasn't much of a popular thing among people who weren't kids..

"We make challenge videos. We change the games code and try beat the game"

"We also do some other stuff too." He elaborated.

Interesting, I should look more into this...

"That sounds cool! Do you post the videos on youtube?" I asked, Nick nodded.

"Just search up Dream, GeorgeNotFound, or Sapnap and you'll find it.." he instructed, I took it as a mental note for later. Our conversation fell silent again for a while.

"I should really get back into Minecraft again.. I haven't played in ages.." I mumbled.

"You used to play Minecraft?" Nick asked.

"yeah, I got it on my family computer when I was like 8-9ish. I played for around a year, but I haven't really done anything since."

"Oh boy you're gonna be in for a shock.. They're have been a LOT of updates since then..."

Nick and I stopped for a bit and stood chatting.

"We could go back to my place and play If you want..? We can try out some of the plugins too." He suggested. Honestly, I thought it sounded like fun. I haven't seen anything on the newer updates let along whatever these plugins he was talking about..

"Yeah, that sounds like fun. I'd have to drop past my place and grab my laptop though." I informed; Nick nodded.

"yeah, we can head there now if you want?"

"Sure."

Nick and I made our way out of the walking trail, cutting across the grassy patch to the road. Nick led the way in the direction of his car.

Well this isn't going to look good for when I get back home to Carter...
