Chapter 10

"Okay, we're gonna head over this way," Nick said, walking towards a forest, I could see him look over to my screen every so often to make sure I was still behind him.

"Okay." he started, clearing his inventory.

"let's start with the basics by getting wood" he added

I scoffed

"Just because I haven't played in a long time doesn't mean I don't know how to play Sapnap." I clarified, placing emphasis on his username.

"Oh? what's with the sudden sass?" He asked, turning to look at me.

"oh, nothing! Nothing at all! It's just that your username sounds funny to say." I laughed.

"SSSSSSssapnap."

"SSSSSSSSSssssssapnap." I repeated, sounding like a snake.

Nick laughed along with me as we made some basic tools.

Things went silent for a minute.

"Hey Nick, what's this green book thingo?" I asked clicking on it, Nick leaned over to get a better look at my screen. His head practically resting on my shoulder.

"Oh, it's a crafting book, that way if you're looking for something to make and forget the recipe it shows up there."

"Some things don't show up unless you've made them before though, it's weird"

"Cool," I stated, organising my tools in my inventory.

"Well, now that we've got that sorted, let's go find a cave."

I nodded and followed him around.

We ran for a while, killing whatever animals we found along the way.

Nick kept outrunning me which I found extremely annoying.

"How the hell are you running so fast!?!? SLOW DOWN!!" I repeated for the 5th time. Nick stopped moving as he kept laughing.

He turned around to face my classic Steve skin.

"You know how to sprint yeah?"

I nodded.

"Just jump while you sprint, hold down space." He explained before running away again.

I groaned out loud and began to run after him, attempting this sprint jump thing.

It felt really weird at first, but I got used to it.

I had almost caught up when I had fallen into a ravine.

Since I was jumping I thought I would've made it but I ended out slapping into the side of the ravine walls and falling to my death

"uhoh-" I said

Username fell from a high place

"whoops," I said under my breath, respawning.

"It's okay, ill teleport you back," Nick said

"teleport?" I asked, when did they add teleporting in? I don't remember that?

"Yeah, we can use commands. I can teleport myself or other players to different locations." Nick explained, clicking enter on his keyboard.

In a split second, I was blipped to Nicks location.

"see?"

"Okay that's cool."

We played around for a bit, got better armour and tools, and then explored for a while.

We found a lot of things that I had never seen before, which was basically everything.

Everything that I had known from back when I used to play had basically been reduced to nothing. Some of these things I had seen could've been around when I used to play, and I wouldn't remember.

One of the things I remember enjoying the most was being in the ocean; I had a lot of fun with the dolphins and swimming.

I also died to countless amounts of times to the sea zombies and drowning.

I also did not enjoy that underwater pyramid that we came across. Those one eyes freaks scared the living shit outta me.

Nick had told me it was some abandoned structure that was rare to come across, when I had swum inside I didn't see the things before but as soon as I went inside I was not happy with what happened.

Nick had a good laugh when I swam out screaming.

I then proceeded to drown causing my death count to rise to 32.

I really was not good at this game.

"So, what do you want to look at now? The nether?" Nick asked

"The demonic dimension filled with fire and death? No thanks..." I said, turning away from him.

Nick proceeded to bridge slightly into a lava pool.

"Oh, come on, at least watch me make the portal, I can do it really fast. He stated, I rolled my eyes.

"can you now?" I asked, turning around, and walking back.

"Yeah, just watch."

Nick started to place a tower of blocks around, it looked odd and I had no idea what he was doing..

He placed water at the top of the cobblestone tower and turn around to pick up lava.

I had no idea what he did but from what I could see was that he had fucked up cause the water had flown everywhere.

Nick groaned in an annoyed manner.

"I'm assuming you screwed up?" I asked

"No! No didn't." He stated, digging down through some stone.

"See! There's still lava, I just couldn't do the portal thing." He added.

"Portal thing?" I asked

"Don't worry about it."

"Okay."

After a few more minutes of playing, I started to get a little tired. Plus, I needed to get home soon cause Carter and I were meant to have our afternoon mass house clean up and boy do I not wanna miss that..! ehehh.. heh...

But seriously if I miss it Carter's gonna try and beat me with the kitchen equipment again..

"Hey, if it's okay with you I think I might start to head home now, I have things I have to do tonight..." I stated.

"Oh.. okay, that's fine," he said logging off. If I wasn't mistaken I swore I heard a flash of disappointment in his voice too.

I felt kinda bad at just leaving so abruptly but I needed to go.

I logged off too and shut my laptop screen.

I packed up my belongings and made my way to the door alongside Nick.

"Sorry again for leaving so soon." I apologised.

"Nah you're all good, I'm pretty sure I have an assignment I need to work on anyways. It was nice to hang out. Are you sure you don't need a ride home?"

"No I'm sure I'll be fine; I know a bus that can drop me off close to home."

Holding my spare arm out, I leant into an awkward hug. Nick noticed and leant in too.

I didn't even mean to hug him, but I guess I just subconsciously did it.

My cheeks began to lightly tingle.

"We'll have to catch up again soon, this was fun," I said, Nick nodded in agreement.

"I best be off, see ya Nick!"

"See ya Y/N."

Holy crap that hug was so awkward, I didn't even mean to go in for a hug I kind of just did. Maybe he thought I was weird after that. I really hope I don't act weird and scare another new friend off. That would suck. I really like Nick, he's nice and friendly. He makes me laugh and even though we've only been friends for a little I feel lik-
