I Felt So Numb

AG's POV

it was the morning of our flight to florida. anna and i have been pretty good these past few days. after the almost kiss there had been tension between us.

i know i wanted to kiss her but i also didn't want to rush into things too fast with her. i wanted our first kiss to be special. i wanted it to feel warm and secure. i wanted anna to feel safe and comfortable before we kissed.

it was 6:30am and our flight was scheduled to depart at 5:00pm tonight. we had a lot to do and pack. so i got up early to make anna her favorite breakfast before the long day.

after making her breakfast i brung it upstairs for her bed to wake her.

"hey anna, wake up." i gently shook her shoulder. she squirmed around a bit till she woke up. "oh hey, what's up" she said adjusting her eyes to the morning sunlight.

"hey uh, i made you breakfast. we should get up cause we have a lot to do before our flight" i said while gesturing the plate towards her. she looked at the plate and smiled. "my favorite. you know me so well" she said and thanked me. she took a bite of her slightly toasted avocado toast with a cooked egg on top with just a sprinkle of salt and a little too much pepper.

yeah, i know her so well. if i could say so myself.

we got out of bed after anna ate her breakfast and started to pack. we listened to bazzi basically the whole time while packing and had some random dance outbreaks every once in a while.

with anna everything was fun. and normal. she made me feel so alive even when it's such a small thing as simple as a smile or laugh.

i was just finishing up packing when she asked me. "hey do you mind getting out real quick i gotta change" she says with a smirk. "uh yeah, yeah sure. i'll go pack some snacks for the plane." i said and walked out.

i thought it was kinda weird cause she never kicked me out to change before. she gets dressed in front of me all the time. we watch movies together in sports bra and shorts all the time. i'm not sure what was different. but i gave her the space.

Anna's POV

i asked ag to leave for a second so i can get her gift packed without her noticing. i wanted to give her something but not till the time was right. i'm hoping this trip to playlist can get us even closer together.

i put the gift into my bag as far down as possible just so ag couldn't see it. i zipped up my bag and headed down stairs. it was time to leave

"hey you ready?" i said as i saw her sitting on the counter on her phone. "uh yeah" she looks up and smiles. we head out and make our way to the airport to finally go on our trip.

"avery baby!!!" i yelled across the convention center! i saw one of my best friends holding her camera screaming to all her friends, "say hi to the vlog!!" i haven't seen avery since we had a thing a few months ago.

"ag mcdaddy! you made it!!" she said while she hugged me so tight. "how have you been, it's been a while" she said as she pulled away from the hug. " i've been very good. and you?" "yeah same. very busy you know." she says then looks at anna.

"and who is this?" avery says with a sweet smile. "uh hi, i'm anna. anna shumatte." anna kindly says putting her hand out for a shake. "very nice to meet you anna. no need for a hand shake, i'm more of a hugger." avery said while pulling anna into a hug.

"so all of us are thinking we walk around in groups or separately, it's up to you. then later tonight mahua is hosting a party at her air bnb at 8pm tonight. y'all down?" avery tells anna and i.
