Chapter 1

The difference between me and the sassy girls, they were liked by anyone in the school and then there was me who was called a loser for joining a book club. They thought being a smart-ass was just some kind of stupidity because I don't learn to do fun things-which I'm correcting every now and then because books were far more interesting than dumb boys and sassy girls.

I hate being called a loser but I also liked the attention, some may say that it wouldn't do good to me because I was being degraded by owning up that term but I don't see that in my self. May sari-sarili naman tayong buhay and what we do for ourselves is our business. They may judge me, call me fat-loser, nerdy-sucker, and all those things that would definitely hurt someone because their ego is much more important than the feelings of others. I hate them, but on the other hand, I just let them say that too unless they were not stepping the line-like hurting me physically because that's a big no, NO.

I just come off from my math class, I headed to the cafeteria to grab some snacks and paid myself some good stuffs. I just scored perfect on our quiz which doesn't make everyone amazed because they know I can ace it without trying so hard. I love being the center of attention but not when I'm in the same room as Cirie.

I was about to turn around and left the premises when I heard her shoes clicking on the floor and the next thing was her swooning my name. I sighed, rolling my eyes to see her.

"What do you want Cirie?" I asked, not interested to talk with her at all.

"So, I've heard you just got a perfect score in your math class. How do you cheat, Tate? I mean, you've got the nerve to do that?" she scoffs.

I smirked, almost about to laugh at her wrong accusations. "First of all, I would just like to note that I don't cheat my exams and quizzes and I never did think of it. So maybe, you're the one who did it because you have the idea for yourself, am I right?"

"No, you're not." Ganti pa into.

"If you're not gonna say anything good, can you just please leave me alone? And I need to fall in line to grab my food, so excuse me." I was about to pass by her without waiting for her response but she quickly grab my arms. I tried to jerk her hands off of me but she gripped it tightly, ramdam ko ang pagbaon ng kuko niya sa balat ko. I tried not to react, mas lalo niya lang didiinan iyon.

"You know why I keep messing you?" Cirie raised her brow. "Because no one deserves it unless it was you. Do you understand?"

I rolled my eyes, "I do, so please let me go."

"Sure," she hastily let go of me. "Girls, sanitizer please." She demanded to the girl behind her bag. Dali-dali naman no'ng kinuha ang kanyang sanitizer at inabot kay Cirie na agad namang pinaliguan ang kanyang kamay. "That's how you clean your hands when you touch a dirty stuff."

I look at them weirdly and they did the same thing.

"What are you doing here?" I asked Gwen, the only person who treated me fair. "You can't sit with me. You're not a loser."

"Regina-I mean, you're not the mean queen. You're just Tate." She corrected.
