Chapter 5

I pulled Noah inside the classroom when people started crowding the hallway, and it's too much for me because I've been sitting in the hot seat for about the whole day.

"What?" Natatawa pang tanong ni Noah sa akin. Gwen closed the door and didn't let anyone walk inside. Kahit na intimidated siya kay Noah, she keeps herself calmed down. "I didn't expect many people here knows me. That's actually amazing! And it's my first time to walk inside this school and good thing I already found you."

"Ano ba kasing ginagawa mo rito?" taas kilay kong tanong sa kanya. Gwen must be pinching me right now dahil sa pagtataray ko kay Noah.

Napakamot si Noah sa gilid ng noo niya. "Well, first of all, I did come to see you today but there's also another thing why I'm here." Ngiti pa niya at halos lumubo ang cheekbone niya sa paglapag ng ngiti niya. Sarap pisilin!

"And why are you? I'm not really expecting to see you right away. Pinapakaba mo ako." Pinaypay ko ang kamay ko sa mukha ko. Pakiramdam ko nag-iinit ang mukha ko pati na rin ang leeg 'ko. Hindi ako sanay sa ganitong atensyon. This is too much to handle right now.

Tumawa si Noah. "Hey, what's happening? Why are you blushing right now?"

I was about to speak when Gwen interjected the conversation.

"She's been getting the school's whole attention because you guys dated!" she stated and Noah's eyes fall on me. Hindi 'ko sure kung nang-aasar 'yong tinginan niya but what I'm feeling right now, hindi ako makakalabas ng room na 'to ng buhay.

"Is that true?" Noah questioned and I nodded. "And what's the big deal about it?"

I paused for a moment to look at his face. Gusto ko siyang sigawan sa sinabi niya. I know what we meant. Pinaglalaruan niya lang siguro ako and I don't like to be played.

"I didn't expect this kind of attention from my schoolmates. I was just the school nerd pero dahil nagdate tayo and it has been all over social media. Nakilala ako ng lahat and what's worst with it, hindi nila ako tinigilan. And what I mean by that, they keep gossiping around and checking on me. Super nakaka-bother and you, being here in the school made it more complicated. Ano ba kasing ginagawa mo rito?"

"Okay, okay. Calm down first before I tell you why I'm here." Aniya. Hinawakan niya ang magkabilang braso ko. He guided me to breathe properly para kumalma ako ng dahan-dahan. After a few seconds ay tumalab ang breathing exercise na ginawa niya sa akin. Hindi pa rin niya inaalis ang kamay niya sa braso ko, mas nilaliman niya ang tingin sa akin. "I'm not here to cause a commotion or to complicate your life because that's the last thing I want to do. I'm here because I was invited by the school board for some school activity to be told later. Do you know anything about that?

Umiling ako, wala akong ideya. "No, I didn't even know that there'll be some kind of activity later. So you're here not for me, right?"

He nodded and smile playfully. "Yup, that's it. So don't be anxious about. Wait, is there anything that's happening around you in this school?"

"Yes." Singit in Gwen.

I look sharply at Gwen and she zipped her mouth instantly.

"Wait, what is it? Would you mind telling me?"

"I do mind but you don't have to worry about it anymore. Hindi naman malala ang nangyayari. Wala namang umaatake sa akin. It's just that, after our date, mas dumami lang ang mga matang nakatingin sa akin and I'm not confident with that. Pakiramdam ko ang daming mali sa akin o 'di kaya naman, super kinaiinggitan nila ako kulang na lang ay sabunutan."
