Chapter 9

Earth 1

Janet

Janet is now 6 months pregnant and has been spending her time between the hospital and studio. She's written about thirty songs in the time that she's been spending at Toni's beside. Janet has finally come to the realization that somewhere in their friendship her feelings towards Toni changed but she suppressed them and never acknowledge them. Now that she's had time to reflect and think about what and how she's feeling, Janet realizes she loves Toni more than just a friend.

Janet gets up from her seat and paces the room as the baby starts moving around. She absently minded rubs her belly. She'll find out what she's having in two days. At her last appointment they tried to find out but the baby wasn't cooperating. In just 3 more months she'll be someone's mother. She was still terrified but she had so much support from her friends and family. Janet felt like she needed to take a walk, so she walked to the hospital's courtyard garden.

The media now is well aware of her pregnancy, she couldn't hide it anymore. She's been pregnant the entire time Toni's been in a coma. She wishes so much that her best friend would wake up. While sitting in the garden she decides that she'll tell Toni how she feels. Janet had never felt like this with anyone else. She had loved her past lovers but not the way she loves Toni.

Janet makes her way back to Toni's room. She grabbed Toni's hand and begins speaking.

"Toni, there's something I need to tell you. I don't know where to start...I...ummm. Didn't think this would be this hard and you're not even awake. What I'm trying to say is that I love you. I know I say that all the time but T, I love you. I think I've always have but seriously suppressed my feelings because I never wanted to make you feel uncomfortable or unhappy. I've never even really been attracted to any other women. Yes, I thought some of them were beautiful but none were you. You're spirit, kindness, loving nature, stubbornness, and sense of humor are the things I love the most about you. I just want you to wake up. I need you. Please T, it's been too long since I saw your eyes or heard your voice."

Janet continued to hold her hand. Tamar had come in the room but didn't say anything. She'd heard Janet's confession and now that she's thinking about it Janet has always acted on pure emotion when it came to Toni. Tamar was secretly thinking 'About damn time." She knew Janet's feelings before she did; Toni loves Janet too but has been doing the same thing as Janet suppressing her feelings. Sure Toni loved Kenny but not like she loves Janet.

Tamar quietly exits and reenters the room as if she hadn't just been there.

"Hey Ms. Jackson. How are you and my niece doing?"

"Tay why are you so sure I'm having a girl."

"Jesus told me. Naw but I just have this feeling. Munchkin," she rubs Janet's belly. "Here is a beautiful girl like her momma."

"I'll find out tomorrow."

Tamar

"That's great J, who's going to the appointment with you."

"Mother actually volunteered to go."

"Aww, Momma K is happy her baby girl is finally giving her a grandbaby."

"She sure is. She treats me like a baby though when I'm around her. I love it and hate it at the same time."

"Soooooooo. Ms. Jackson do you want to have a baby shower?"

"I don't know I haven't thought about it."

Tamar immediately begins planning something in her mind. Since Toni still hasn't woken up, she was taking on the best friend role. For these past six months she and Janet had gotten even closer. Tamar even went to her for advice. Tamar made a mental note to call Rebbie and get her on board for planning a baby shower for Janet.

They sat and talked for a little while longer before Janet left to go to the studio. Tamar couldn't wait to hear the music that Janet was recording she knew it would be amazing.

Tamar pulled her chair closer to the hospital bed and she sat next to Toni and began speaking to her sister.

"Tone, I know you heard everything Janet said. I've known for a while how she feels about you. You have too. I know you do. She loves you Toni, she's been here everyday since you've been in a coma. She needs you to wake up. You have to tell her how you feel and yall should be together. I know you're thinking how do I know? You of all people know that Tamar Estine Braxton hears and sees everything. I've seen the way you look at her and I've seen how she looks at you. Janet Damita Jo Jackson is the love of your life and you were going to let her walk away and you go marry Kenny. Where does that work at? I don't know. I love Kenny but he's not the one Tone. So when you wake up I hope you do what's right. Don't break my baby J's heart either. I will kill you. That ain't no threat Toni Michele Braxton. It's a promise Tone."

Tamar spoke her piece and sat with Toni a little longer before she decided to go home. She was excited about throwing Janet a baby shower. She just knew it was a girl. For some reason she's known it was girl since Janet told her she was pregnant. She calls Rebbie on her way home. Of course, Rebbie is on board for planning a baby shower.

Sure enough two days later it's confirmed that Janet is having a little girl. The baby shower is going to be awesome.

It's short I know but i have writers block and life is getting in the way. The next updates will be better.
