Earth 1
Toni
It had been three minutes and the doctors were trying to revive Toni. She felt it but was being pulled into the light. Once she reached the other side, she saw her Grandmother.
"It's not your time child. Go back, forgive Kenny. Go to Janet, her love for you is so pure with no conditions. I know you feel the same way but you keep pushing your feelings away. It doesn't matter that she's a woman she loves you, forget everyone else. Go be happy Love." She kissed her cheek and Toni turned around. This time it was much easier to got back to her body.
Another 2 minutes passed. Dr. Keys stopped all he was doing and everyone else backed away from Toni's body.
"Let's call it. Time of Death," He looked at his watch. "7:13pm." He began to walk away but one of the nurses grabbed him before he got to the door.
"Dr. Keys, she alive." He then looked at the machine monitoring her heart and the lines were now looking like mountains. He looked at Toni and her eyes were open. She was just looking around then she pointed at the tube in her mouth.
Quickly the nurses removed the tube and handed Toni some water.
"Hello Toni, can you speak?"
"Yes," her voice was raspy and softer than usual.
"Do you know what year it is?"
"2005?"
"It's April 19th, 2006. It's Wednesday, you've been in a coma for nine months."
"I remember passing out. What happened to me?"
"You had a small aneurysm that I had to perform surgery on. Your family and I have been waiting for you to wake up for nine months."
"Wow. I heard voices, were they my family?" She didn't want to tell him what really happened. Dr. Badu had said that the people here wouldn't understand.
"Yes, and some of your friends. I'll be right back." He walked out the room and approached Traci and Towanda in the waiting room.
"Ladies, I have some great news." He smiled widely at them. "Your sister is awake; she seems to be a little confused, but we will wait to see if there are any other cognitive issues. I want to monitor her another week or so."
"Oh my god." The sisters said at the same time.
"We have to call Mommy and everyone else."
"You guys can go see her whenever you're ready." They smiled and were glad that their sister was back and couldn't wait to see her.
Dr. Keys walked away and checked on Toni again before he headed to his office down the road from the hospital.
"Hey Trai," Towanda said looking at her phone. "Tamar just texted me. Janet had the baby. Our new niecey pooh is here."
"Yay. Now we've got double happy news." They turned to walk down the hall entering Toni's room.
Strangely Janet's delivery and Toni waking up were connected. Toni felt it even though she didn't know exactly what it was. Could their love for one another be what brought the baby here and Toni back? There were so many thoughts going through Toni's mind that at first she didn't see her sisters come in the room. Toni's bed was now raised and she was looking out the window.
"Toni, I missed you sis." Towanda approached and hugged her.
"I missed you too. The entire time I heard yall talking to me." She started to cough so Traci handed her a cup of water. Toni took small sips. Traci went opposite of Towanda and hugged Toni from the other side.
