Alex took a sparing look at her friends, checking to see their progress through their lunch meal. She bit down on a limp french fry and took a big bite of her burger, flicking a corner of lettuce out of her ketchup with a distasteful sniff.

"Bear, please tell us what your surprise is," begged Dix, pushing a sundae towards him with a hopeful smile.

"No." Bear remained steadfast, one hand furiously tapping and scrolling on his phone, the other feeding his mouth a chicken leg.

"Lesh him dosh hith thimgs." mumbled Jordan through a mouthful of cheese and turkey sandwich. "Bith mysterousch Beer."

"Let him do his thing, big mysterious Bear." translated Alex effortlessly, cramming another handful crinkle fries into her mouth.

"Why do I have the feeling he's going to launch us out of the highest turret in Cinderella's castle with the fireworks tonight?" Dix said grimly, folding her hands together.

"Usually, we leave that sort of stuff to Jordan." Alex replied in an equally grim tone.

"Time to go!" said Bear suddenly, standing up.

Alex, Dix, and Jordan opened their mouths to rebut him and gestured at their foods, little left. They were in Fantasyland, the last part of Magic Kingdom they'd be in for the day, because Bear wanted to go back to Hollywood Studios. A trek and a half, if you asked Alex. Magic Kingdom certainly had been magical enough for them to delay their lunch so they could stuff that time with as many rides and attractions as possible.

That had involved zooming along the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train (Alex and her friends had watched every Disney and Universal movie possible so they understood everything going on, otherwise, the big dwarf animatronics might have made Jordan pee his pants), strolling around Cinderella's castle, even meeting a few of the princesses and mascots. Off Fantasyland, they visited Big Top Souvenirs and came out sporting the iconic Disney ear hats and headbands, then snacked at a stall a medieval style stall selling mini mince pies.

They scooted over to Frontierland and came across another mountain, namely Splash Mountain. With their belongings safely tucked in a temporary hire locker, the ride was so popular their fast track line had them waiting for about fifteen minutes before they could board their giant log. Alex whistled in perfect pitch, the world known catcall, at the ride, not anyone there.

Like most Disney rides, each row was a two seater. Being fast pass holders, Dix and Alex slid into the very front row with Jordan and Bear behind them. Splash Mountain got them very wet, crashing down big drops and squealing as cold water teased at them in sprays of droplets. While inside the mountain, they even saw the well-known scenes from movies like Peter Rabbit, short films and cut shots. The final drop was Alex's favourite, even though she nearly fell out, she took it in good stride and they planned to do it again.

Then they had a spin on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in minecarts, walking out dizzily. Which came to where they were now, eating very late in the day at Gaston's Tavern, Bear preying on his favourite flavour of chicken wings, Alex on a burger, Jordan with a sandwich and a hotdog, and Dix with a salad. From Gaston's Tavern, a place with a homey feel and details from Beauty and the Beast, they could see the short towers of the Be Our Guest restaurant which looked too fancy for their taste.

"Come onnnn." whined Bear, unusually childish.

"Fine, fine." grumbled Alex.

Jordan pointed a carrot stick at Bear, trying to be threatening. "Tell me now young lad, or..." He looked around and failed to go on.

Bear snorted. "Now you're the eighty year old man. Who says lad anymore?"

"Me." Jordan puffed out his chest like a cocky rooster. "Lad. Lad. Laddie lad. Lad, lad, lad, double lad, triple lad, quadruple lad, laddette, latte, laddie, lad lad lad lad, lad with a lad on top, lad with a cherry on top—"
