Chapter IX

Hehe, How do you like my drawing of Meliodas? I somehow can't draw shadows, but don't pay attention to that xD

"Thanks again Ban" he said as they both stared at the sea

Ban turned to him with a small smile, knocked on the blond man's head, which tempted him to look at the undead

"Fool, never think again that I will hate you if you tell me a secret" Ban said with another shake of his head and hit the captain on the head again only harder, causing him to close one eye and put his hands on the spot

"It looked kind of cute in a way, but wait, did he say secret?" The giantess spoke to herself in her head

"I still don't know what's bothering you, but if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you, okay?" Ban spoke to the little boy and in response he sighed and nodded his head

"So Ban found out a secret, but not that what bothers him? But what would it be?" King asked

"I guess we'll never know" Diane answered again, since Hawk is not talking at this time, she wondered what the pig was thinking

The boys both stared at the sea
And this was the perfect time to intervene

"There you are, can you please not just leave without telling anyone"
Acting was never Diane's strength, but it sounded convincing

They turned around and looked at them

Ban twisted the eyes
"We are old and strong enough to take care of ourselves 'mother'."

"Not if there's an angry Hawk here who kills you because you didn't make him any leftovers," said King, who is holding back a pig

The brunette girl had to giggle at the sight

"Well Ban, maybe you should use him to make leftovers, but he should at least put on some more bacon so it's not a loss" the captain giggled, scaring Hawk and galloped back
"You scared him," Ban said with a laugh
The culprit only shrugged his shoulders

The sins decided to go back, it was a pleasant silence all the time
As they reached the boar hat, they saw Hawk being comforted by a worried Elizabeth, and Elaine just watched this situation

But this was interrupted when Ban opened the door
Elizabeth ran to Meliodas and hugged him, Hawk was just about to step in, because he thought the captain would pervertly touch the princess again, but surprisingly he didn't, he just hugged her back

When they let go, the princess started directly
"I was worried about you, are you okay?

"I don't know, am I okay?" Meliodas answered, which only confused her, but at that very moment the pervert touched the princess' breasts, clutching them. Hawk and Diane jumped in and tried to teach him a lesson, which failed miserably because he just started giggling.

Ban went to the bar and watched the situation, but he seemed to be lost in thought as he looked at the captain.

"What is wrong Ban?" Elaine asked as she sat down next to him, looking at him with concern, as she always knew when something was bothering her partner

He looked at her, but only shook his head and looked down, saying only that it was nothing important

Without thinking, she went into the thoughts of him

"I've seen his fake smile, and it looks the same, damn Cap'n"

She felt many different emotions, from sadness to pride

"So you mean he always wears a fake smile?" She asked him softly so only he could hear.

He knew directly that she was rummaging around in his head, but he didn't mind, she is just curious

In response, Ban just hummed to himself, and took a sip of his ale

"Please don't go any further into my head, I got a secret from him, and I promised that no one else would know." He now replied in words, she was a little disappointed, but the little fairy respected his wish and nodded.

After good fifteen minutes, the rest of the group returned from Camelot.

They greeted each other warmly, and the captain offered them alcohol, but Merlin as well as Gowther refused, so he poured only Escanor a jug.

"I'm a bit tired from work at the castle, I'll say goodbye for today, I can give you the report from King Arthur later." the magician spoke but before anyone could answer, she teleported herself into her room.

Gowther just sat down at a table, a bit further away from the others, but they didn't mind, because he does it often.

"How are you all doing? We were only separated for a short time, but I'm very interested in how my comrades are feeling, especially Princess Elizabeth," said the fragile human, in his weak form, as it's still early in the morning

"I'm very well, what about you, Sir Escanor?" Elizabeth asked with a bright smile, which makes Meliodas seem strangely different, not happier, but sadder

Ban stared at him closely, but the little boy just ignored him and increased his smile

"I'm perfectly all right, now-"
The captain got up, which interrupted him, but he only told him to keep talking, but Meliodas didn't hear it anymore because he was in his head, he went to another table, the sins looked at him confused after the man had finished talking.

He stopped in front of the table where Gowther was sitting, the doll looked at him and nodded in recognition
"Captain."

He sat down next to Gowther. The others tried to talk about something random while listening in secret.

"Tell Gowther-" but before he could speak any further, a pink arrow of light was shot into the neck in Meliodas.
The doll adjusted his glasses and answered whatever he got from the arrow as information.

"My status from my creator, is up to date. Also of those in the realm of the dead. I have already been informed to give you the book." He spoke unemotionally to the blond person next to him, and didn't look at him

Meliodas nodded "So you own it?"

"I own books about almost everything, whose information I can't remember. I'll just get it for you." He got up and went up the stairs to his room.

The doll rummaged through his bookshelf until he finally found it.

It was a thick purple book, it seemed to be very old. You couldn't see the title because Gowther ran his fingers over the book, the only letters you could recognize were 'Fo' and 'R', it was obvious that it was two words.

He walked down the stairs with the book, and saw Meliodas still in the same position he had left him.
The others also noticed him and looked at him very closely, they also unconsciously looked at the book in his hand, but they still only recognized three letters.

Gowther sat down next to his captain,
"I don't know if this can help you, but you can try" he handed it to Meliodas and he thanked him.

The blond boy got up and went up the stairs, wishing everyone a good night while he was walking, so he disappeared on the other floor.

The sins had 'coincidentally' also finished their conversation at that very moment, and instead of asking Gowther what the book was. They all decided to do something different. King, for example, took a nap while Diane went for a walk in the forest.
