Heyy!  I'm alive :D Just wanted to thank everyone, for the nice comments and the "likes".
Oh and btw.
this chapter could contain triggering content. Like inner numbness, in the way of depression and other similar things!

I am also sorry for the rare updates. I might change this chapter one day because I haven't written anything for ages and I'm a bit out of practice.

Stay healthy! :D

It was quiet. Maybe even too quiet. After Meliodas disappeared into his bedroom, he did not show up again. Well, it was only a few hours ago. The sins spent the day today without their captain. But everyone is accustomed to it somehow.
Night had previously fallen, and everyone was fast asleep. Well, everyone but Meliodas.

Elizabeth is not with him in his room today because the girls decided to have an "overnight party" in the bar area today. But of course, none of them was awake anymore since it was already late at night.

So the little boy sat alone on his bed, as usual, lost in thought. Should he open the book? Should he not? He could not decide.

After 10 minutes questioning the same thing over and over again, he decided to get up and pick up the book that lays on the shelve right now.
"Forbidden Rituals" he murmured to himself.

He placed his hand so that he could open it.

He really wanted to open it, his hand even started to trembling, but he did not dare... This is his last hope, this could make his whole life better, but the problem is that this could also shred his endmost hope into chunks.

He looked at it and the longer he stared at it, the more nervous he got. His accelerated heartbeat was already roaring in his head.

He couldn't go on any longer. With one quick movement, he opened it.

He began to turn the pages, becoming faster and faster as he turned the pages. Meliodas' expression changed - page by page. Sadness, hope, hopelessness. So many in a row that you can't even assign them all. He flipped through three hundred pages, and the result, according to his expression, was not great.
It didn't show anything, nothing at all.

His expression looked like he wasn't even in his body anymore like his soul had just said goodbye.
Meliodas just stood there frozen. But at that very moment, he broke down. He slumped to the ground. His expression did not change from the endless emptiness...

But suddenly, from one second to the next, he felt emotions that he had locked behind walls for a long time. He had the desire to scream as loud as he could but, the blonde simply could not. Meliodas would only wake up the others. They would start to worry... Ban is already concerned about him. He does not want him to worry more than he currently does. So he swallowed his anger, no, his pain again.

Meliodas didn't even notice that tears rolled down his cheek until he felt something dropping on his hand. The body put up the hand to the his cheek and followed the wet track that the shed tear left behind

He was finished... again.

A morning ray through the sunrise woke Meliodas, who is still lying on the ground. He once turned around on the floor so that the light would not shine on his face. He wanted to continue sleeping but was disturbed by a knock on the door.

He groaned and rolled on the floor, the young-looking adult wanted to get up but had no energy to do so.

"Yo, Captain, time to get up" from the other side of the door, a voice was heard - Ban

It was very silent until Meliodas answered
"okayy..." That's all he could say, he already tried very hard to get only this word out.

Luckily the undead was satisfied with that because he only told him briefly that the others were already awake downstairs. So he went downstairs again.

The boy didn't ignore him, he truly wanted to get up but somehow Meliodas just stayed on the ground, wanted to close his eyes again. He closed them for a few seconds until he noticed that sooner the sins or Elizabeth would surely look for him again.

And what would the sins think if they suddenly saw the captain lying on the ground doing absolutely nothing. So he decided to stand up, step by step until he finally stood. When he was at the height of a mirror, he noticed his stong, bad-looking circles under his eyes.

"Damn, how am I going to hide them from the others?" he thought out loud to himself... suddenly Elizabeth's make-up fell into his sight. She never uses it because her skin is beautiful enough without the make-up. He took it in his hand, looked at it, but put it back again. "Oh come on, fuck it, I don't think it looks that bad. Hmmm, I should invent an excuse like always, just in case." Since he often invents excuses, it was not difficult for him to make up another one.

"I'll just say it was warm, so it was hard to fall asleep."

He didn't even tell a lie. Well, half a lie, because this night was truly hot.

Meliodas was about to go but stopped when he noticed that he is just wearing trousers without a T-shirt. He went to the closet took his hoodie he is normally wearing and put also some shoes on.

After he changed his clothes, he went downstairs and was stared at directly by the others. He just ignored it and said good morning with his smile - the problem was that it didn't look real, or at least it felt like it was.

"Good mornin' " they almost all said synchronously, ban poured ale into a jug, and lifted it towards Meliodas. He gratefully accepted it and looked Ban in the eyes for only a second. However, this was more than enough for the undead to see the dark pockets under his eyes, as well as the emptiness in his eyes.

"Captain?" Ban thought to himself
