Maybe I belong among the stars.

****************************************************************************************

In my flustered state, I was somehow led inside the warm-looking apartment and was met with several pairs of eyes, all landing on me. They all had smiles on their faces and it made me wonder if they were just being nice or if it was only normal for them to accept a weird stranger into their territory.

"You must be the nameless girl we have been hearing about." A wiry-looking man with very blue eyes, a strong face and grey on his hair and beard, said to me. His tone was welcoming and whatever remnants of nerves I felt faltered at the kind gesture. "Dennis has told us so much about you." He continued.

Dennis. Heck that was his name!

I raised my hands to shake his extended ones politely.

"It's good to finally meet you." The nice lady said to me. I extended my hands to shake her like I had done with her husband, I assumed.

She shocked me when she pulled me towards her giving me a light hug. My nerves were back and I stiffly hugged her back.

The lady let go off me and gestured to a slim boy next to her to take my bags from my hold.
The boy smiled at me and took my bags from me, Dennis helping him and carrying my suitcase.

The woman led me to the sitting room, sitting me down on one of the sofas. A moment after, Dennis brought me a glass of water which I accepted gratefully.

"Mom, I think she should go to her room to freshen up a bit while we prepare for the stuff. " Dennis said, giving her a knowing look. His mother nodded at him and turned to me with a smile. I returned her smile and got up from the sofa, following Dennis who showed me towards the hallway.

He opened a door to a small but comfortable looking room. I presumed it was a guest room and it seemed like it was arranged for me beforehand.

I thanked Dennis and he instructed me to change, telling me he would be back in the next hour. Afterwards he closed the door, leaving me alone in the room.

I didn't expect his family to be so welcoming. It was as though they were already waiting my arrival or something. They were too nice to me and treated me like they've known me before.

I observed the room, roaming through desks and drawers. The bathroom was en-suite too. I went on to freshen up and change like Dennis had told me to.

I didn't even know what to think or how to react to this new change but I'm thankful that at least I have someone to rely on and a roof over my head.
