There wouldn't be a sky full of stars if we were all meant to wish in the same one.

Ten minutes till midnight, I dropped the album back in my suitcase and arranged the remaining clothes into the drawers and then the wardrobe.

Dennis was still in the room, he was silently watching me.

I hurled the suitcase on top of the wardrobe when I was done putting my shoes and clothes inside the wardrobe.

"Hey Lisa?" Dennis called.

I turned towards him after successfully placing the suitcase on top of the wardrobe. It was easy enough for me since I was a tall for my age.

"Yeah?" I answered him.

He stood up and came towards me. "I have something for you."

"What is it?" I asked.

He took something from his back pocket and pulled out a little red velvet box. If there's anything I've read in books, this had to be the part where he would -

"Are you proposing?" I blurted. I rubbed my arms, something I did when I was nervous or confused.

He chuckled lightly. "Something like that."

I instantly blushed a bright pink and my body became stiff.

"I'm kidding." He laughed. "It's a personal birthday gift from me to you." He said.

He opened the tiny box and it revealed a thin silver bracelet with a little white crystals that shimmered under the bright lighting of the room.

"Haven't you done enough already?" I whined.

"No." He deadpanned. He took my left hand and slipped the bracelet onto my wrist which fit easily and perfectly.

"Look at the words engraved on the bracelet." He told me, nodding at my wrist. My eyes moved between him and the bracelet in my wrist.

You are my star - the words reads. And next to the words was a tiny silver star.

My heart beat faster after I had read the words and I looked at Dennis. His sharp blaring blue eyes were soft and gentle as he returned my gaze, his lips tugged in a small smile.

"Dennis-"

"No!" Dennis shushed me. "If you're going to thank me yet again, don't." He said finally.

"I have to at least do something to pay you back." I argued.

He chuckled. "It's your birthday Lisa. And it will be over in like the next two minutes."

I sighed. "You are doing way too much for me."

"I've not even started." He shrugged.

I stood there looking at him with sheer disbelief. If he's going to give me more stuffs, I will so not accept any of it.

"I have a proposal. I'm going to make you something different every weekend for breakfast." I mentioned. "With your favorite smoothie." I finished while smiling.

He opened his mouth to say something but I held up my hand to cover his mouth.

"I've made up my mind Dennis. You love food, that I can tell from the birthday dinner you arranged for me and our past conversations at the bridge." I said, removing my hand from his mouth. "It's the least I can do for you." I smiled.

"Fine." He sighed. "You'll get tired eventually." He smirked.

My smile turned into a smirk. "We'll see about that."

I glanced at the time and watched as the hand stroke midnight.

"Good night Dennis." I said, hugging him for the last time. He patted my back lightly before we finally let go of the hug.

"Good night Lisa." He smiled.

He walked out of the room and shut the door, while I fell back on the bed and allowed sleep to finally take over my mind and body.
