~*~*~I love the stars, because they can't say anything. I love the stars, because they do not judge anyone.

I had no idea what the time was. I didn't care.
The streets were dark and shadowy, and if not for the street lights, I would have feared for the worse to happen to me. The old me would have anyway. I was too angry, no... too livid. I actually wished for the worse to happen to me. But my life sucked too much to have any of my wishes come true.
Houses after houses passed me by, apparently never to be seen again.
I was left hollow, shallow. The world had abandoned me, forgotten me. I didn't know what to think or do. Where I will go from here. What my life will become. I had no idea or plan for my future. Did I even have one?
I was a shadow of my own self. Moving like a feather along the pavement. Silence in the air, minus the sound of my suitcase rolling on the gravel path. Stars beginning to come out of its hiding place. I found myself in a daze.
When I reached the bridge, I peered over it at the deep blue waters that seemed to be getting darker and more mesmerizing. It was calling out to me.
You poor thing, it said, come here, let me hug you. You look too sad. Come, let me be your friend, it beckoned me over with its soft flowing sounds.
This river was always there for me. For a whole year, it had been my shoulder to cry on, my only friend along with the stars of the sky. And right now, it wanted to give me comfort.
But why couldn't I move? What was stopping me from getting a hug from my only friend?
I urged my legs to move. To just climb over, jump and get it over with. No one wanted me anyway. No one cared about me. No one loved me. They tossed me aside and they didn't regret it. I was worth less than a garbage can.
My feet finally moved and my hands gripped the wall separating the river from myself. I was about to lift myself over the wall when a hand on my shoulder stopped me. I tensed up.
"Hey, what are you doing here at this time?" His voice somehow matched the river. Soothing and gentle. My shoulders relaxed and I turned around. His electric blue eyes shone down on me, even in the darkness of the night. His dark hair was patted down neatly and he was dressed in a green tshirt and dark grey joggers.
He was giving me a confused yet surprised look. When I gazed back at his eyes, I saw as the surprised look melted to that of concern.
"Are you okay?"
No, I'm not.
"What are you doing here?" I croaked out. My throat hurt and I felt my eyes sting. I thought I was done crying... apparently not. But I swallowed it back.
His forehead creased and a line appeared between his eyebrows. "I'm running an errand for my mom. This bridge is a short cut."
I nodded in understanding and turned back to the river. It was still waiting for me.
I felt a light touch on my left shoulder and I looked up at him. Concern was evident in his deep blue orbs as he stared at me.
"What's wrong?" He asked, worry laced through his voice.
"Nothing."
A moment passed by, I could feel his intent gaze on the side of my face.
"I don't believe you." He said. He placed his hand below my chin and faced me towards him, looking closely at me. "You have been crying."
I stared into his eyes, the deep blue color was enticing and it sent something warm through my body. Very different from what I was feeling. I wanted to push him away and shout at him to stop pretending to stand me. To stop pretending like I didn't freak him out.
He glanced at my side. "What's with the suitcase?"
"My mother." I finally answered without thinking, acting against what I really wanted to do.
"What about your mother?"
"She threw me out of the house."
He looked at me with horror. "What? Why?" He exclaimed.
I frowned at him, wondering if he really didn't see it.
"Because, she hates me."
