Note: I had way too much fun writing this. I'm a huge Simple Minds and U2 fan and know there was some rivalry in the 80s, so I just decided that writing about that would be entertaining. It most certainly was for me, just don't know if it's as much fun to read. :)

"It's just unbelievable, y'know?" Bono rambled on and on about how Simple Minds was getting much more recognition than U2. "It's like we never existed."

Rose huffed and pulled him close. "Stop complaining. You're two completely different bands from different countries just doing their own things. U2 is well-known all around the world and you're probably one of the biggest bands ever. Simple Minds is just known for Don't You Forget About Me and it's not even written by Jim."

Bono chuckled and agreed with his manager's sister. Rose had decided that coming along with her older brother on U2's tour would be a great way to spend her summer vacation. And it indeed was. She got to meet the band and grew particularly close to the singer. Rose was a Simple Minds fan by heart, but didn't dare admit that to anyone she had met so far. There was no way you could be a Simple Minds and a U2 fan, because that was just weird and most fans hated each other if they found out about that. But that was just Rose's little secret.

"Oh fuck me." Rose muttered as soon as the singer of the band Bono was complaining about caught her eye. "You didn't tell me you would be performing with them!"

Bono looked at her with wide eyes. "Was I supposed to?"

"Yes!" Rose couldn't contain her excitement and let go of Bono's hand to rush over to Jim's side. Bono followed her with less excitement and greeted the singer.

"I'll hate you even more now." Bono muttered to himself as Rose was visibly swooning over Jim. And Jim obviously wasn't complaining about that. Rose was a stunning girl and he probably wanted her all for himself too. So music wasn't the only thing the two singers were fighting about.

"I'm going back." Bono announced as Rose chatted away with Jim about how much she adored their band and her favourite songs.

"Stay a little longer, please? I'll go back with you in a bit." Rose begged. Bono sighed, but stayed put and waited until Rose was finally done swooning over Jim.

"The American is such a good song, though! It's kinda old by now but it's classic." Rose smiled, still not done talking to Jim.

Bono sighed and rolled his eyes, taking Rose by the hand and pulling her away. "Bye!! See you tonight!" She shouted as she walked back to the dressing rooms with Bono.

"Tonight?" Bono asked, cocking his eyebrow at her. Rose nodded with a smile on her face. "He's invited me backstage to meet the band."

"You are backstage and you are with a band." He muttered, looking confused.

"Last time I checked, you weren't Jim Kerr and The Edge wasn't Charlie Burchill." She retorted harshly. "Sorry to hurt your feelings, but I'm also a Simple Minds fan."

"I managed to realise that myself, thank you." He sat down on the sofa and shook his head with a slight smile on his lips. "I can't believe it."

"Believe what?" Rose asked.

"I can't believe I was actually falling for a Simple Minds fan."

"Oh for goodness' sake, Paul! We're not monsters! So what, I like Simple Minds. I'm not casting some spell on you." Rose defended herself with all she got as she couldn't believe her ears. Bono was falling for her? Or was he just joking?

"Look how you were all over Jim." He muttered with a sigh. Rose rolled her eyes and sat down next to him, pulling him close and pressing a kiss to his lips.

"Headliners: 'Bono dates Simple Minds fan'." She whispered against his lips. Bono chuckled and kissed her again.
"I'm willing to date a Simple Minds fan as long as it's you." He smiled.
