Today was the big day for both men. Heath slipped on his clean, new looking, and thin white shirt. Then he pulled a black leather coat on top and examined his hair one last time. He was too excited and yet too nervous to think of the best outcomes could happen. All he could think of is being caught and either getting killed or thrown in the Capital Jail. Though Heath would rather being killed than thrown in jail he thought of how much shock that would bring to his family. The boy let out a long sigh, and then looked down at his now clean hands in thought.

“Ready my boy?” Avery’s voice interrupted his racing thoughts.

“Yes,” Heath muttered and he turned on the flashlight to see a shocking view of the new Avery. The man had a black business suite on, rings were almost on every single thin finger of his, his shoes were shiny and black and finally, what disturbed Heath, Avery looked a lot similar to Heath’s father.

After the long moment of pause Avery cleared his throat, “How do I look?”

“Great,” Heath stammered. He shifted his gaze quickly and tried to erase all the bad feelings about his father.

“Are you ready to go?” Avery asked his voice sounding a little questioning about Heath’s actions.

“Of course I am,” Heath said cracking a grin. He went to the little holes in where he could climb up and proceeded, followed closely by Avery who wasn’t as fast and had trouble climbing out. After, the two walked rapidly out of the forest and soon began walking like any normal rich citizens.

The plan is for the two to walk down to downtown, meet up with the truck driver that they’re going to leave with and then hope that the plan will turn out as it was organized. They didn’t want or have to deal with any hold ups or get sidetracked. The two need to be on time on everything if they want to make it out of the city. If one thing goes wrong then everything else4 will fail too.

“What are you thinking about?” Avery asked Heath as he examined his worried look.

“I’m just worried that something won’t turn up right,” Heath smiled at the wise man. “I don’t know but, I have this odd feeling that something is going to go wrong.”

There was a long pause until Avery spoke gently, “We’re both going to get out safely.”

The thing is Heath wasn’t worried about his outcome of running away; he was worried about Tyler and the rest. All Heath could hope for is that Tyler wouldn’t do anything stupid in his absence or let Lily walk astray. If anything happens to his younger siblings he will always feel responsible. It is enough that he feels that the cause of Alicia’s death was partially his fault, or worse, entirely his fault.

As his thoughts went further he didn’t notice how they were nearing to downtown. The busy traffic, people enjoying the January weather and finally tourists all were practically invisible as Heath fell deeper and deeper into thought. He was beginning to think of Maya, he will definitely miss her. Heath wished he could’ve told her that he was leaving and she might never see him again. It scared Heath to think like this but, he had to face the truth and know that there’s no way that he’ll ever be able to get Maya and her affections. It was enough that all the time she would talk about Chester, and it killed Heath inside as he heard those words. He craved a one last minute with Maya, if he could only see her just one last time.

“I see the driver,” Avery spoke suddenly with alarm in his voice. “This is it Heath, we’re going to leave this awful city!” The wise man gripped Heath’s arm and squeezed it tightly.

Even Heath himself couldn’t help but feel some excitement and happiness as he spotted the thin driver. He looked over at the two and waved letting them know that the plan was going perfectly well.
