Keefe yawned.
He turned over in his bed trying to fall back asleep under the warm blanket.
There was something nagging in the back of his head, something he was supposed to remember, just out of his mind's reach.
He shrugged it aside. After all, if he couldn't remember what it was, it couldn't be that important, right?
Keefe tried to return back to his dreams of mallowmelt, cinnacreme, and stinky candy coloured imps.
Suddenly, his eyes flew wide open.
He had just remembered why today was so important.
Keefe quickly tried to get out of bed...then decided he deserved just five more minutes.
25 minutes later, Keefe stumbled out of bed, yanking off his t-shirt and putting an identical (but slightly cleaner) t-shirt on. As he got dressed he started to smile in excitement for the day. He had been waiting, planning, and preparing all year for the greatest day on earth.
April fools day.
Tomorrow would be April fools, and today was his last day to polish off his plan and get everything in place..
He quickly scanned his room for his shoes. His room was an absolute mess, with stray pieces of paper all over the floor, sticky notes with quickly jotted ideas stuck on the walls, and a huge bulletin board with blueprints of all the secret rooms, vents, and teachers lounges sticky tacked on top of each other.
It looked like a room a serial killer would have, instead of a teenager who was just really passionate about pranks.
Keefe started to look for his shoes under the piles of dirty clothes draped over his chair.
Yikes. When was the last time he had done laundry? He spotted his shoes across the room and quickly shoved his feet in them, not having enough time to tie the laces. He checked his clock.
9:30
Crap. It wasn't being late to class that worried him, it was the fact that if he arrived before 9:45, he wouldn't be able to sneak into the Forklenator's office to plant the paint bombs before the great Fork himself arrived. Keefe quickly grabbed the bag of supplies, and raced out the door.
Tam tugged at his bangs.
It was official. Gym was the worst.
The noise of shouting students were echoing off the walls, making it impossible to think straight. Splotchers were bouncing and exploding all around the gym, and Tam had already had too many near misses with out of control splotchers this morning.
He sighed and sat down on a bench in a corner of the gym.
Tam picked at his gym uniform.
After gym it would be breakfast in the cafeteria.
Yum.
Breakfast couldn't come fast enough.
Mmmm...would there be sandwiches? He hoped there would be sandwiches. He loved sandwiches.
But what KIND of sandwich? There were just so many options! How could he ever pick one?
Tam had started to daydream about all the sandwich possibilities, when a bright green blob whizzed right past his face and exploded.
