Note: Hi, sorry I posted behind schedule!

In this chapter the POV switches a few times, so I'm really sorry if its confusing. The next chapter will also be like this, so if there is anything about the formatting or writing that is a bit unclear (for the switching POV's)  please comment and I will try to fix it for the next chapter!

Also please don't forget to comment and vote for this chapter if you liked it! Thank you!

Alina opened the door to the detention room and Tam clunked down into a desk. She shot him a look then stepped outside the room.

Great. Step one, catch the kid, done. Now all she needed to do was to hail the others and she could go home.

Easier said then done. Either the imparter was broken or nobody was picking up. Maybe it was the imparter-net. It did freeze at times. But why now?

"Are you kidding me," She grumbled to herself as she jabbed at the device, "Just work, or so help me..."

This had not been a very good day for her. She had been selected, out of all the other councillors to go stay up till five am, to catch a prankster. She would have thought when taking the position as councillier she would be doing more important duties but noooooooo. She was once again stuck taking care of irresponsible hormonal nightmares while the other councillors got to do "world saving" missions.

No matter how far she tried to run she was always dragged back down to the role of a babysitter. It wasn't fair.

She slammed her imparter against the wall, desperately trying to make it work.

The other councillors never liked her, she could see that. She wasn't oblivious to their disdainful looks. No matter how hard she tried she would never be a real councillier. She would never be properly respected. She would never be able to do anything meaningful. She would always be just a teacher.

"ARGH!" Alina threw her imparter to the floor. She was seeing red.

With a rush of embarrassment she realized that the ugly haired twin had been staring at her little temper tantrum and was looking rather amused. She glared at him until he looked away.

Alina bent down to pick her imparter off the floor. She smoothed a hand over her hair and composed herself.

"I will try the connection somewhere else," She told the twin, "Do not move, touch or even breathe on anything or else I will personally escort you and your sister to exilium."

The twin started to protest, but she gave him a glare to shut him up.

Alina stepped out of the room to go find some fresh air and maybe a better imparter-net connection.

This was a bad idea.

This was a really bad idea.

This was probably the worst idea Keefe had ever had, and he had joined the neverseen.

Yet he was still doing it.

He wasn't exactly sure why. This past hour had been very confusing for Keefe. In fact this whole day had been one of the most confusing days of his life. As Keefe quietly snuck through the school halls, his mind was the loudest it had ever been.

Why did Tam come to warn him? How did Tam even know Alina would be here? Why would Tam pretend he was the one who snuck into school? Why? What? How?

A mumbling voice echoed through the school halls.

Keefe screeched to a halt and ducked into the nearest classroom.

He left the door open slightly and peeked out.

"GODDAMMIT!" the same voice yelled, and Alina walked into view. She was shaking the imparter. Keefe guessed she was either trying to make it work, or she really needed a spare maraca.

"...I mean honestly, after all that....." She grumbled as she started to near the classroom Keefe was hidden in.

Keefe held his breath.

"...The nerve of some elves....snobby jerks..." She passed by the classroom, and turned left though the halls.

Keefe exhaled. He didn't have time. She would be back any moment now with the entire council ready to send Tam away.

He slowly opened the class door and stepped out into the hall. He looked left then right then left again. All clear. Wow he sounded so cool saying that. All clear.

Tam tugged at his bangs. This wasn't good. He wasn't sure what had possessed him to come help Keefe but he didn't think he regretted it. Did he?

He sighed and wished he was back at home watching Ponyo with Linh. Those cookies were so good. Tam wondered if Linh would have to go with him back to exilium. Or worse, she would willingly go with him. Just because he had done it for her doesn't mean it was a good idea.

"Hi."

Tam nearly fell out of his seat.

"WHAT THE -" Keefe clamped a hand over Tams mouth.

"Shush!" he said, removing his hand, "Alinas gonna hear!

"What the heck!" Tam whisper-shouted as loud as he could, "What are you doing here! And honestly, a little warning would be nice!"

"I'm being awesome and saving you." Keefe grinned in a way that made Tam either want to kiss, wait no, hug him or punch him in the face.

"No, you're being annoying and making stuff worse!" Tam said, "you should leave before Alina comes back. She's hailing the council right now, they'll be here any minute."

Keefe did the grin™ and held up a chip. "No she isn't. Yesterday I removed the imparter-net chip from the main system. You don't know how much bribing it took Dex, but now I can control the connection."

Tam raised his eyebrows. "And you did this why?"

"Well, she cant call the council, so I have more time to bust you out of here. Now c'mon lets go before she figures out!"

"Wait-" Keefe yanked Tam up and dragged him towards the detention room door.
