Tam was waiting for Keefe outside the store.
He picked pieces of glitter out of his hair, but it was no use. It was like trying to dry someone off by blowing on them.
Freaking impossible.
The door of Body and Bath works jingled open as Keefe walked out of it, a bag in his hand.
He held up his hand for a high five.
Tam hesitated. He reluctantly raised his hand and awkwardly did a weird sort of high five-smack thing. It was pretty pathetic.
"Why are we high fiving?" Tam said.
"We're more than halfway done!" Keefe grinned. " We have four out of the seven ingredients!"
Tam nodded, and brushed back a chunk of hair that covered his eyes, but it just flopped back again.
Despite how cool he looked in them, Tam had to say that bangs did have their downsides. Half the time he could barley see anything.
"So what do we have left?" Tam asked.
Keefe pulled out the list and looked at it. "We have to find glitter sparkles, cardamom and last but not least, food colouring!"
"Why glitter sparkles?" Tam questioned. "Aren't they synonyms for the same word?"
"Tam you ignorant slut." Keefe said, "Glitter is a substance created out of tiny pieces of sparkling material, while sparkles is a verb for shining brightly with flashes of light. Everybody knows that, Tam."
Tam rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Do you know where we can find the ingredients?"
Keefe looked at the list again. "Actually these are pretty basic stuff. I'm pretty sure we can find them all at a supermarket or something."
"I think I saw a Food Whole's near the intersection?" Tam suggested.
Keefe shrugged. "Fine by me."
They started to walk to the Food Wholes.(you can see how creative and original the author is, just from the store titles)
Tam couldn't keep his eyes on the road, as he was too busy being wowed by the sheer hugeness of Atlantis. He kept looking up trying to see if he could spot a shark...or better. Well maybe not better because he was stuck in a bubble beneath it but it still would have been cool.
Unfortunately he couldn't find a single shark, or octopus and not even one Megalodon! I mean honestly.
In fact the only thing that came out of it was the fact that he nearly got run over about 10 times, before Keefe insisted on taking the lead so that Tam would follow.
Whatever.
He was so annoying.
Being so caring and blegh.
Ugh.
Yeah.
So annoying.
They finally reached Food Wholes. It was a pretty average building compared to the huge silver skyscrapers, the awesome library and the rainbow slick potion shop. It still looked pretty impressive though.
It was...green. And kind of sparkly. And kind of uneven, actually. When Tam stepped closer he realized that the walls were made out of different shades of green glass. Some patches were sparkly and some were opaque, but all in all it was a pretty nice looking green glass house.
