Keefe ran his hand over bottles and bottles of potions, looking for just the right one to fix his hair.
After a few moments of hesitation, he grabbed some green, pink and purple filled bottles. Keefe handed the purple one to Tam, then started to apply the pink potion to his own hair. Tam looked at the back of the bottle and read the instructions on how to remove the excess splotcher from his face.
After a few minutes Keefe smiled in satisfaction at his reflection and spun towards Tam.
"You done?" He asked, in a way better mood now that his hair was back to fab.
Tam nodded and got up. "Now that you've finished with your hair, do we go back to school?"
Keefe said, "Actually, we came here because my paint bomb recipie is in my room."
"Then why-"
"The hair was a fun detour."
Tam glared at him for the umpteenth time that day.
Keefe ignored him. "I'll go grab the recipe"
Keefe ran up the stairs again to his room. He ran inside and grabbed the recipe, trying not to leave Tam waiting. Which was kind of weird, considering the fact that Keefe had just spent almost ten minutes "fixing" his hair, just to waste Tam's time. Keefe ran down the stairs and slammed open his bathroom door.
"I HAVE RETURNED" Keefe shouted, holding the recipe victoriously above his head. "No need to thank me, I know, I know. Oh no, it's too much, stop thanking me! Oh really, it was nothing."
Tam rolled his eyes. "Great. Now do we make it?"
"Hmmmm." Keefe scanned the recipe. "Okay, so we have a small eensy weensy tiny problem."
"What?" Tam asked.
"I...don't have all the ingredients." Keefe said sheepishly.
"Are you freaking kidding me!" Tam shouted, "After all this, you don't even have the ingredients?!"
Keefe opened his mouth then shut it again. He knew where to get more ingredients, but he doubted Tam would go for it.
"What is it?" Tam said, seeing Keefes' expression.
"Well... I do know where to get more ingredients!," Keefe said.
"And that is where?" Tam said suspiciously.
"Atlantis!"
Tam stared at him. Keefe stared back.
Tam stared back at his staring back.
Keefe continued staring.
Tam also continued staring.
Keefe felt the need to blink. He didn't. His eyes started to burn, but he held his gaze.
Tam's eyes were starting to water.
Tam blinked.
"HA!" Keefe said, "I win!"
"Whatever."
Keefe basked in the glory of his triumph till he remembered something that oddly made him lose some of the happiness of winning.
"So...should I take you back to school then?" Keefe said.
Tam looked confused. "What? Why?"
Had Tam not heard Keefe explain that they would have to go to Atlantis? Maybe he forgot, because he was so distraught over LOSING the staring contest.
