Darkness Inside

You see this smiling girl.

She seems happy, cracking jokes and laughing...

Inside she feels numb and upset.

She listens to music that no one would think she'd even know.

Thoughts in her head no one would have ever thought she'd think

And when she sits to write...

She sometimes herself doesn't believe what comes from her head and onto the screen.

She sits and types...

The darkness inside of her releasing itself,

out into the open in the form of words.

She realized ages ago that it wasn't a bad thing,

that it's probably the healthiest way to release it all.

And that she was lucky enough to have found the art of writing.

Her head tells her she's not good enough,

and sometimes she believes it.

Sometimes she believes that maybe it is all in her head...

Perhaps she really is happy...

But then she realizes that she still struggles, and that she'll never be perfect.

She can be better tho...

And that's all she wants.

She just wants to escape the darkness inside.
