L'ange Thorpe POV
"L'ange, my name is L'ange Thorpe ."
I said under my breath. I shouldn't allow Conrad to get under my skin. But being in human form for this long has me weakened and frustrated, my temper hanging on a thread. I have to curb my temper if I'm going to make any progress in this rebellion.
" Nice to meet you Genesis, I hope you'll like it here". I say, staring at her intently. She has the most mesmerizing eyes I've ever seen on a human. But then I'm not absolutely sure she's human, and the fact that I can't seem to figure out exactly what she is is frustrating me even more. I have to get to know more about her and her family.
" Nice to meet you as well L'ange,"she says quietly, returning my probing gaze.
"Well isn't this lovely, we are now getting to know ourselves," Conrad says with mirth.
" Nice to meet you all, I think I'm not hungry, excuse me," Genesis gets up to leave.
"Well aren't you the attention seeker!" Amber now standing on the staircase and looking at Genesis with her eyes shooting daggers at her.
"First you show up in class and steal my Boyfriend's attention from me! Then as of that wasn't enough, you move in the same house as him and now you want him to feel sorry for you!" She says in a high pitched voice incredulously.
" you're such a little slutty bitch, you tramp." She says now lunging herself at Genesis with her manicured nails angling at Genesis face.
Without thinking, I lunge myself between Amber and Genesis and take Amber's wrist in a tight grip, which may leave a bruise.
" Don't you ever think of doing anything as much as raising your dirty fingers at her, you hear me Amber," I say underneath my breath. Then I realise how awkward this must be for Genesis, her being here for less than 24hrs and already having to deal with such stupid issues. And me suddenly protecting her like I've known her my whole life. I need to take a breather, so I yank off Amber's wrists from my hold making her whimper, and I storm off outside into the darkness.
Genesis Malloy POV
I'm standing shocked at what just happened, trying to absorb the situation but my brain is mush. Firstly I didn't even know Conrad before now, worse more as he has a girlfriend who is hell bent on tearing my face off right now. L'ange moving at inhuman speed and protecting me from Amber's full on attack. I didn't want my first day to go like this at all, heck I didn't even want to be here. If not for my dad insisting that I should be in a boarding school for my last year, one where I don't even know a single person.
" hey, wanna go upstairs?" Gianna asks me gently, concern etched on her face.
I take a quick glance at Amber, who is now being comforted by Conrad in one corner of the dining. As if feeling my gaze, Conrad looks up at me and smirks and I quickly glance away. The other two boys are still sitting at the table, looking rather bored and Rose is standing behind Gianna with an apologetic look on her face.
I quickly turn on my heel with Gianna hand in mine and we climb back upstairs.
" I'm sorry you had to go through all that, it's the first time anything like that has ever happened here." Gianna apologizes.
"It's okay Gianna, non of it is your fault after all, It's just my bad timing at work. " I say and flash her my biggest smile.
" are you sure?" She asks half smiling.
" Totally." I say, half convincing my self that every thing is okay.
