Elwyn's P.O.V.

Eight of us stood on the stage in front of the Lumiere Pack. As usual, Cyrus was siting by my side, his tail sweeping the floor as he wagged it. They all looked lethargic as fuck. It was already 7 a.m.! We told them to report at 6, but none of the little shits woke up on time. We were one hour behind schedule. Nolen, Kenan and Tier were off more to the side while we stood in the center. The Lumiere Pack was chattering amongst themselves or simply trying not to fall asleep on their feet.

Kaede scanned the crowd and took a deep breath, "WAKE THE FUCK UP!"

Everyone's heads jerked towards him, shocked awake.

"Aren't you lot facing annihilation? Why don't you act like it? Or is it that you expect us five to fight your war? It's time for training, so get your shit together!" Kaede bellowed, his face contorting in anger.

I snickered inwardly, thinking about all the fun I was going to have when we started.

"Split yourselves up. Warriors, you will follow Elwyn and myself. Women, to Shea. Children and teenagers, Cailin. Men, Gabriel," Kaede instructed.

They moved sluggishly, stumbling over their own two feet to split themselves into their respective groups. Kaede face palmed and sighed through his nose.

"Let's go," he grumbled to me.

I followed him, and we walked out into the training fields. It was a huge grassy area that they used for training, as well as for holding parties. There were a fair number of people, and I spotted Nick and Killian amongst the group. Looks like Nick has healed.

"All right, stretch yourselves, and then we'll begin with a quick warm up," I shouted, bending down to take Cyrus's metal chain collar off.

It was a magic item we requested a witch to craft for us on one of our travels. The collar acted like a limiter, draining Cyrus's power to a level he could control and handle with ease. As a growing dragon, he needed coaching to rein in his power that we could not quite provide. The best we could do was to limit his power till he could.

Since we always had requests for help, I used these opportunities of training the werewolves to train Cyrus as well. Cyrus shuddered slightly as the collar came off, his eyes flecking a little golden and his pupils turning back and forth from normal, round pupils to reptilian slits. I put my hand on his fur, helping to ground him a little through our bond.

"Control yourself. Go slow," I said.

His pupils rounded out, but some golden flecks remained. I stood up straight and scanned the warriors' faces.

"Okay, we'll start off simple. See Cyrus here? I want you to catch him and bring him to me. You have thirty minutes to do so. Do whatever is necessary. Oh, beware; he bites," I grinned.

I heard lots of "we could do this in ten seconds flat" from the crowd and smirked. Kaede and I walked off to a side, watching them. Despite the fact that he should know better, Nick went straight at Cyrus, lunging for him. Cyrus simply sat there for a while before leaping back just as Nick was almost about to reach him.

Cyrus landed neatly on his feet while Nick landed hard on the ground with an "Oof!". Immediately, the warriors went into a frenzy and started chasing Cyrus, who sprinted away from them with a happy grin on his face. He was almost just a blur of brown and black, leaving the warriors always just about two metres away from him.

Kaede and I watched, amused. They could indeed have done this in ten seconds, but only if they did the 'befriending' approach. Cyrus was very much like a dog, always looking for someone to give him attention if I wasn't around.
