I bumped into Ahmad and he was acting all nice, I felt so uncomfortable but I went with the flow. After talking for minutes, though I was just answering his questions he bid me farewell and turned. I called him back "Ahmad you didn't do anything wrong, you gave me the answer that you felt was right and didn't lie to me. I know you feel bad that's why you are trying to make it up to me but you don't need to, in fact I am happy that you didn't beat around the bush or lie to me. I am fine and over you Alhamdulillah, I'd moved on months back. Thank you for being nice." I said to him looking right into his eyes, months back I wouldn't do that even at a gun point (never been pointed with a gun though). The long look I gave him without blinking made me realise I don't feel anything special for him and I believed he realised that too because he looked calm. He thanked me, said salaam and left. I told Zahra about my encounter with Ahmad and she laughed. She said "I wish I was there to see how nice he was acting. You know Ahmad is a snub but he's sweet." Zahra believes Ahmad is a snub but I disagree with her. "Ahmad is not a snub or mean or whatever. He's a straightforward person and I like people like that." I opposed her "See you taking his side, are you sure you are over him?" she teased "Yes I am, I was looking right into his eyes. I shocked him too. I am so proud of myself, I wish you were there." I bragged "You see that's what I have been telling you all the time, I see no reason why a person would feel uncomfortable talking to someone when he doesn't feel anything towards the person or didn't do anything wrong. Now that you are free from his love you are confident and that makes you more beautiful. Please don't ever look weak in people's eyes, especially men; they are going to take advantage of you. You are my baby and you are a strong beautiful woman, more precious than any stone. You are a queen." she preached. I always tell Zahra she's a feminist but she disagrees with me.
Zahra didn't ask me what I was talking about with Abdallah, but she looked very curious and I pitied her and brought it up. "Babes you know the guy I told you I met at MOE early in the morning, the weird guy, and the one I told you I met several places, the one I pray for?" she nods her head and I continued "He's one guy and he's Imran's friend. This world is such a small place." I told her "Subhanallah, indeed. And Maryam he doesn't just look pitiful he also looks weird and guilty, he's been avoiding your gaze when you were talking. Did you say anything uncomfortable? Or wait, does he like you? Wallahi the way he looks at you is..." she paused and searched for a word to fill the space "magical." she concluded "I can see that your poetic side is beaming with ideas, how about you get your Mac book and right some poetry. I told her and left her room.
