The Snake and The Raven: Year 1

I slept in the closet of Dudley's gaming room, it wasn't big but it was big enough for me, my long dusty blonde hair fell over my shoulders as I slowly came out of the closet that my step aunt Petunia opened for me, she didn't hate me she was somewhat nice to me but she was the complete devil to Harry, I got into the hand me down shorts that was given to me I put my eye patch over my silver eye and put on a oversized sweater to cover the scars on my shoulders and put on a face mask that was given to me to cover my burn scar. "Hurry up runt!" Vernon yelled up the stairs to me I was leaving the gaming room when Dudley shoved me back in and on my butt I hissed in pain, he was scared of my burn that is why I am instructed to wear it I had my hair up in a lazy bun I sighed and stood up as I heard Dudley jumping on the stairs over Harry. "Dudley cut it out" I said and he ran down the stairs shoving Harry back into his cupboard, I huffed and helped Harry out of the cupboard and fixed his glasses, "you alright?" I asked the boy I grew up with and he nodded "thanks Sammy" he said and I nodded "come on... Petunia will wring our necks if we do not help in the kitchen" I said biting my lip and walking towards the kitchen, the only people that knew of my burn and the reason I wore a mask was Petunia and Vernon. Harry never found out and I do not intend for him to find out either, I inhaled sharply when my burn flared in pain but I shook it off Petunia noticed this and sent me a look that said remain silent, "girl watch the bacon and don't let it burn!" she snapped at me. "Boy where is my coffee?!" Vernon snapped, I flinched and looked at them as I cooked the bacon, "coming Uncle Vernon Dudley was looking at his living room full of presents "how many are there?" He asked turning on his father "thirty six, counted them myself" Vernon said in glee and Dudley's face fell, "that's two less than last year!" He wailed and I flinched away. I brought the bacon over "Dudikins we can go out and buy two more later" Petunia ushered Dudley to the table, I slipped on the bacon and Vernon spun on me "be careful!" He snapped at me and I nodded cringing at him. 

We were getting to go to the zoo for Dudley's birthday, I was in the back between Harry and Dudley I was the smallest since I was female I gulped noticing Dudley smiling gleefully he was going to make Harry and my life a living hell, I sighed and relaxed slightly as we got to the zoo Vernon bought Dudley treats leaving Harry and I to be hungry. I noticed a new enclosure in the zoo it was reptiles and I smiled gleeful, "Harry look!" I chirped and started towards it before Vernon's hand wrapped around my upper arm probably going to cause a bruise and I yelped in pain, "you stay behind us" Vernon snarled lowly I whimpered in slight fear before nodding quickly and slightly my eyes wide, he couldn't see the bottom part of my face no one could I sighed looking down and followed slowly Harry nudged me slightly to make me less sad and I sent grateful glance.

We entered the Reptile House and I smiled it was dim lighting and cool, I walked up to one of the enclosures to see a sleeping Boa Constrictor I smiled its sleeping form before I was shoved to the side by Dudley and he looked at the sleeping snake "make it move" he said to Vernon who wacked his knuckle on the glass and said move, Harry helped me stand I smiled at the boy. I heard a rattle and noticed Dudley shaking the glass and yelled "Move!" The snake remained still and I shook my head and crossed my arms, Vernon and Petunia lead him to look at other creatures Harry and I approached the enclosure the snake raised its head and looked at the both of us, giving us both the look of 'I am used to that' and I nodded "Harry and I both" I said and I sighed as Harry spoke up "it's annoying" and the snake nodded and looked between us tongue flicking out before snapping back in. "Where are you from?" I asked and it flicked its tail towards the sign and I read 'Brazil' I nodded and Harry spoker again "was it nice there?" he asked and the snake flicked his tail at the sign again and I noticed it said raised in captivity, "you and me both" I said to the snake and its tongue flicked out again amused. "Mum! Dad look at what the snake is doing!" Dudley yelled shoving me into Harry as we both fell to the floor I yelped in pain and made sure my mask stayed in place as tears pricked my eyes and I got off of Harry and moved to sit beside him nursing my flaring burn. Harry was glaring at Dudley as the glass just vanished from under Dudley's hands and he fell forward, and my eyes widened along with Harry's the Boa took that opportunity to slither out landing on the floor with a gentle thud and looked at the two of us, 'thankssss' it hissed out gently and I nodded while Harry said "anytime" and the snake slithered away hissing at people and out of the Reptile House. I looked back the enclosure to see the glass was replaced and Dudley was stuck inside the the small room drenched in water and shivering, he went to get out and his hand pressed against the glass and his eyes widened "Mum! Mummy!" He howled in fear as Petunia walked past and her eyes widened and she screamed in surprise, I had to cover my ears Harry chuckled as Vernon turned on us and his face started to turn an unusual red and purple and I shrunk away. "Oh boy..." I mumbled under my breath.
