chapter twenty eight

i couldn't see the colour of the sky, but y/n made up for it <3

i felt my cheeks begin to burn into a fiery red as i smiled. before i could even think of something to comment i clicked out of instagram and went to contacts, calling george. he picked up after the second ring.

"you are crazy." i said while laughing he laughed along with me. "how was your flight?" i asked.

"surprisingly good! tommy is on his way home and i am just waiting for my ride." he said, various beeps and conversations from the airport in the background of the call.

"what made you want to post that right now?" i asked him as he stood outside, waiting for his car.

"i don't really know," he replied, "i saw stuff on my timeline and wanted to make sure people knew the only person i want is you." i felt my heart melt as he told me his reasoning. "but if you're uncomfortable with it i can delete it, it's not big de-" i cut him off before he could finish his sentence.

"george, i am so glad you posted it. who knew you could be so sappy," i laughed as he yelled back an exaggerated hey, "plus, i would never be uncomfortable with you." i said as i could sense his smile through the phone. he was beginning to say something else when his mic cut out for a few seconds.

"sorry y/n! my ride just got here. i'll call you when i get home, okay?" he said as i heard a car door shut behind him.

"okay. drive safe!" i hung up the call and flopped down onto my bed. we were official. i couldn't help but smile at the thought of george and i being a couple to the public. even though it was scary, i was glad to be doing it with him. my emotions overtook me as i buried my face in my hands, smiling as i attempted to cool the burning on my cheeks. suddenly, val burst into my room. she held up her phone and pointed to it.

"Y/N???? DID YOU SEE THIS??" she yelled as she raced over to me, shoving her phone in my face. i laughed as i pushed it away.

"yes val, i did see it." i responded to her as i looked at the post again on my own phone, smiling even wider.

"i can't believe this," she said as she stood beside me on my bed, "i've been waiting for you guys to finally just make it official." she smiled as she pulled me into a tight hug, both of us laughing. i continued to talk to her for a few more minutes before i got a facetime call from george. she left my room and shut the door as i picked the phone.

"hello hello." i said to him as i watched him throw himself onto his bed. "what time is it for you?" i asked. he turned to check his clock.

"about ten pm. but, i am still mentally checked into texas time so i don't think i'll be getting much sleep tonight." i looked over to my clock while he responded 2:03 pm.

"i mean, i am planning to stream later so you could always watch that!" i said raising my eyebrows at him. he rolled his eyes and laughed. "but," i added "before i stream, we can play on our two player world of you want." i suggested to him as i looked down at my hands, "i know you're probably tired from travel and don't want to which is totally fine it's just an idea but-" he cut me off by holding up his laptop to the camera.

"y/n, get on the world." he said as he put his computer back down and propped up his phone on the edge of the screen. i smiled and got up from bed to grab my laptop. i sat back down in my chair so that i could use my mouse. i propped up phone on the edge of a cardboard box and began to load up minecraft on my laptop, shifting in my chair. i saw the screen flash red as the word 'mojang' came up on my screen. after waiting a few more seconds for it to finish loading up, i joined the game. i stood in the middle of our minecraft bedroom, staring at the beds. the last time i logged off, the exterior and foundation of the house were done, we just had to do some decorating on the inside. when i turned around, i noticed something was different. the room was completely decorated with pink carpet, flowerpots on the windowsills and many other small details around the room. i walked out into the hallway and saw that the rest of the house was decorated as well.

"when did you do all this?" i asked him as i moved my character around the various rooms in our house.

"i had some free time and a window seat on the plane." he answered with a soft smile. i walked down the stairs and saw the whole first floor was decorated as well, same color schemes and patterns. it looked pretty.

"okay but how did you make it so good?" i asked him as i ran back up the stairs, "especially with your colorblindess..." i added as i clicked on my bed and waited for george to make his way to the bed as well.

"well," he said as i watched his character open the doors to the bedroom, "i figured i would try my best to imitate what i want the future to look like for us now , when we have an actual house. not just a minecraft one." he responded. i felt my face burn bright with his comment but, thankfully my lights were turned down so you couldn't see the brightness that laid on my cheeks.

"personally, i love it." i said as i spun my character around before walking out the door.
