i woke up with the sun through my blinds, the recognizable softness of my bed beneath me. i questioned the bed as i sat up, not knowing how i ended up there after last night.

"good morning sleeping beauty." george said in a raspy voice as he rolled over to face me. i smiled when i saw him and brushed his hair back from his forehead. i cringed as i registered his good morning

"did i really fall asleep out there?" i asked him, looking down to see my sweater from the night before still on but my jeans replaced with pajama pants.

"yeah something like that..." george trailed off, lost in thought.

"y/n?" i whispered, tapping her shoulder lightly. she made a soft groan in response as i lifted up my wrist to check the time. 12:18. i sighed as i sat up from the plaid blanket covering the hard concrete. y/n was lying on her right side, facing me, her chest rising with the soft breath of sleep. i stood up and took a deep breath, bending down to hook my arms under her back and legs. i softly pulled her up, trying not to wake her as i let my breath go. walking through the balcony doors, i walked through the apartment to her room and carefully laid her on the bed. she began to stir and made a sound of disapproval as she reached down for the button on her jeans.

"so uncomfy..." she mumbled, fiddling with the pants. i sharply switched my gaze to her dresser as i heard the rubbing of denim behind me and my face grew red. i opened her top drawer a pulled out a pair of pajama pants with llamas on them and chuckled, throwing them at the sleeping girl without turning around.

"put those on," i said, "they'll be more comfortable." i walked out of the room and back into the kitchen, out to the patio. i picked up the blanket and shook it out, folding it back up before stepping back inside and shutting the door behind me. yawning, i moved back through the hallway to y/n's room. once i got there i saw her in relatively the same spot as before with the pajamas on instead. i laughed quietly as i switched off the over head light and walked around to the other side of the bed, pulling down the comforter and sheets and got into the bed covering her with the sheets as well. she moved in closer to me and i smiled

"goodnight love." i said before closing my eyes and drifting off.

"...you fell asleep when we sat back down to watch the stars a little bit more, i didn't want to wake you." george said softly, slightly hiding his face due to the red tint on his cheeks.

"aren't you a gentleman." i teased as i pulled the covers off my legs and stood up, stretching as i got out of bed. he scoffed and stepped out as well. we made our way to the kitchen to eat some quick breakfast before our shopping trip around the town today. after breakfast i quickly changed and waited in the living room for george to get ready as well. val walked into the living room and sat down next to me after putting her bread in the toaster. clay and george both walked into the living room a few minute later, clay still in pajamas while george had on his outfit for the day.

"alright," george said, "should we get going?" he asked as he stood up from the couch.

"yes we should." i answered following suit. "have fun while we're gone." i said to val and clay on the couch.

"but not too much fun." george added raising his eyebrow. val picked up the pillow from the couch and threw it at us. george dodged out of the way

"you're such an idiot." clay responded as george and i headed for the door. i heard george snicker under his breath as val stood up to collect her recently cooked toast.

"don't do anything i wouldn't do!" i said to val with a wink as she peaked her head around the door. she huffed and rolled her eyes, walking over to us and playfully shoving us out of the door.

"bye! goodbye! time to leave!" she said continuing to push us out before shutting the door on us. george and i laughed at our tormenting as we walked down the stairs to the lobby and exited the building. when we got close enough to the city buzzing with tourists and shoppers, i stopped george.

"two hours, once we are done we can meet here, but make sure the gifts are hidden well enough." i said to him as i dropped his hands, "does that work?"

"deal." george said, sticking out his hand. i rolled my eyes but allowed my hand to find his, shaking it before splitting off of him and walking into the shops. i had a pretty good idea of what i wanted to get george as i walked into the small craft store on the corner. i made my way to the back to search for a small photo album book. my eyes grazed over the options until they stopped on a specific book with a baby blue cover. perfect i thought as i moved back to the register at the front of the store. a wave of happiness and excitement rushed over me as i exited the store and made my way to the drug store a few blocks away. the bag swung slightly at my side as i walked, humming quietly to myself. arriving at the store i made my way to the back of the room to the photo section. i found the right cord and plugged my phone in to it, pulling up the album in my photos i had put together the night before. the photos popped up on the screen and i began to print them out one by one, smiling as each one came out of the machine. at the end of it, i had fourteen 6x8 photos printed out. i went back up to the register to pay for it and walked out of the store with my gift. when i got back onto the busy sidewalk, i checked my watch. the time showed i had a little over and hour left in the shopping trip so i decided to browse the city and see if i found anything else for george. i stopped by the bakery next door and bought two chocolate croissants and two cinnamon muffins to take home with me for everyone to eat. it had been about 45 minutes of aimless strolling when i saw and ad in the window of a shop i had never been in before. i stopped abruptly to read the letters in the window and raced to the door, pulling it open. this is exactly what i need.

shopping for y/n had always come easy to me. she was incredibly grateful for everything and loved any present she received, so i was usually in the clear. this time though, i want to make her gift special. but, i had no clue where i was. i wandered around aimlessly through the streets as i looked for a shop to catch my eye. after half an hour of window shopping and looking in multiple stores, i sighed turned to the right, walking down the long sidewalk. suddenly the sign of a shop grabbed my attention from the rock i was kicking in front of me. my paced picked up slightly as i walked down to the store and opened the door, a bell ringing quietly above me as i stepped in. a sweet old man stood at the front desk and asked me if i needed any help. i hesitated before answering "do you have anything," i paused, "space related?" the man smiled and brought me to a small section of the store. "do you think you could get this done by the end of today?" i asked the man as i ran my hand over the display.

"i could get it done right now if you'd like!" he responded cheerily, handing me a paper to fill out. i smiled as i grabbed a pen and wrote down the information. he got to work quickly and i browsed the store. i picked up a book of constellations and held onto it as i walked back around the store. i sat and talked to the man for the next twenty minutes as he finished the gift, he told me experiences from his life as i explained to him the reason for the gift. "this girl you mentioned," he said, brushing off his canvas, "she sounds special." i ran my hands through my hair and smiled softly

"she is. she really is." he held up the canvas to the light and nodded in approval before flipping it over to show me. my eyes grew wide in awe as i nodded quickly. he walked back over to the register and i checked out at the front desk, buying the constellation book and the gift from the man. i reached out to shake his hand.

"thank you," i said to the man as he returned the hand shake, "she will love it." he smiled as he handed me my change.

"good luck young man!" he waved as i walked out of the shop with the shopping bags in hand. taking a deep breath, i turned on my heels and made my way back to the meeting spot.
