"oh my god," george groaned as he rolled over. i tossed a bag of chips and a bottle of aspirin at him while pointing to the glass of water i left on the nightstand.

"fine dining," i said with a smile, "enjoy." he chuckled softly before wincing and bringing a hand up to his head.

"and now i remember why i don't drink." he said with a sigh as he popped open the bottle and took the recommended dose. he opened the bag of chips as well, bringing one of them up to his lips.

"hey!" i yelled at him, "do not get your greasy hands all over my bed." he hovered his hand over the comforter in protest as i glared at him before walking into the bathroom to grab a wad of toilet paper for him to use as a napkin. he thanked me and wiped his fingers off after putting the bag on the nightstand. he then moved the blankets off of him and swung his legs off of the bed with a grunt. he stood up and made his way to the bathroom, placing a hand to his forehead; pushing the stray hairs out of his face as he achingly hobbled to the bathroom. i heard my shower handle turn and the sound of water hitting the shower floor. i could hear a joyful hum slip from his lips as the water ran. smiling to myself, i made my way into the kitchen and grabbed a cup from the cupboard.

i walked over to the fridge and filled up the cup; i took a sip and let the cold water brush over my lips. grabbing one of the books on the shelf, i took a step into the warm air on the balcony and sat down. a few minutes later, i heard the water stop running. after folding the corner of the page i was on, i closed the book and stepped back inside. as i stood in the doorway of my room i saw george take a seat on my bed. follow him, i sat down beside him on the white comforter.

"so," i said as he placed a hand on my leg, "judging by how you woke up today, i think it's safe to assume you don't remember much about last night." he put his free hand over his eyes in embarrassment as his cheeks took on a soft pink tint.

"oh no what did i do." he said with a grimace.

"don't worry, besides losing a few very embarrassing jackbox games, you didn't do anything," he took a big sigh of relief and ran a hand through his hair, "except," i said with a deep breath which resulted from a worried expression from george, "you told me that you wanted me to come back to england, you know, with you." he looked up at me with a small smile spreading across his lips.

"i guess drunk words really are just sober thoughts." he said with a slight mumble as he sat up a little bit more to face me. "my mom wants to meet you, like really wants to meet you," he said with a chuckle, "when i went home after texas the first thing i did was tell my family about you."

"is that right?" i said with a lopsided smile as he moved my hand up to his mouth, placing a small kiss on the back of it.

"cross my heart," he continued, "obviously if it's too much too soon since i leave tomorrow, you don't have to come with me but i thought it would be nice for you to see my family and maybe have a change of scenery and-"

"george," i said, cutting off his worried rambling, "i would love to go to england with you." he looked up to meet my gaze as his eye glistened from the sun beams hitting his face, illuminating the small freckles the lay silently on his cheeks.

"really?" he said as his smile grew wide.

"so," i said with a wink as i stood up from my bed and walked over to the closet, grabbing out my suitcase and placing it on the floor below me, "what's the weather looking like for england next week?" george smiled at my words as he pulled his phone from his pocket and stood up from the bed as well.

after george had managed to buy me a plane ticket at the last minute and i had finished getting all of my clothing in order with lots of weather checks and swapping of outfits, we headed to the living room to tell val and clay our plan. clay would be staying a few more days before his flight home to florida which kept val with some company other than nala for when i left. the pair both seemed fine with it and were excited for me and george. throughout dinner that whole night, george was giddy and smiley like i had seen him only a few times before. as i sat down on the couch between him and val, he looked down at me with a grin.

"what?" i asked with a perplexed look.

"oh nothing." he said as he turned his head back to the tv, a small glimpse of pink painted on his cheeks. i rolled my eyes as they trailed to the television as well. the colorful screen flickered in the dark room as a warm feeling of contentment washed over me.

"y/n seriously wake up."

i jolted awake to the whisper-yell as i felt my body being nudged. i yawned, rubbing my eyes slightly and sitting up. as my eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room, i realized that i was not in my bedroom but instead in the living room of the apartment, bundled up on the couch. i groaned in response to the voice that called out to me as i pulled a blanket off of my torso and set it to the side. i saw that the sun was beginning to peak over the various buildings and hill as my eyes trailed to the patio.

"what do you want?" i said to george with a whine as i tried to close my eyes and curl back up again.

"y/n...our plane leaves in like an hour."

it took me a minute to register what george had said but when it did, i bolted up from the couch and began a dash to the bathroom. george forcefully shushed me, pointing at the clock. i realized the early morning time and how clay and val would still be asleep. thankfully, my clothes were already packed. i brushed my teeth and washed my face before throwing all my toiletries into a smaller bag in my suitcase. tiptoeing into my room, i quickly grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt from my drawer. once i had changed, i brought my suitcase into kitchen and placed it by the door so that i wouldn't forget it. george had just finished brushing his teeth as i stepped back into the bathroom, he flashed me a clean smile and i chuckled softly. the sun was now halfway over the horizon and the clouds were painted a soft pink as the golden beams poked through them. george zipped up his final bag and brought it to the door where the rest of our luggage sat.

"ready?" he said with a grin. i returned the gesture as i brought my hand to my suitcase handle,

"ready."
