Quinn really wasn't surprised when Kurt called her up late nast night, claiming to have fabulous idea for a girl's day out. He and Mercedes had been trying their hardest to cheer her up as Rachel had yet to contact her. The blonde had to admit, it was working.

She watched as her best friend gobbled up the last piece of his double cheeseburger, leaving ketchup stains at the corners of his mouth. They'd spent the night laughing at dumb tiktoks and eating whatever they could find. Quinn had eaten a hamburger with bacon (couldn't resist), a salad and a few chicken nuggets. Normally, she'd probably feel bad about all those extra, unnecessary calories that were now in her body, she couldn't find herself to care this time. It had been one of the nicest nights she'd had in a while, she wasn't going to punish herself this time.

"I feel like I should mention... I met somebody."   Kurt wiped the sides of his mouth clean with his napkin, clearly trying to hide the smile on his face.

"Or well... I had met him before, actually. And so have you. We just started talking yesterday."

"Who is it?"   Mercedes asked. Kurt's face grew red. Wow. Quinn had never seen somebody actually have this kind of effect on him. His happiness almost made her happy, too. Almost.

"Remember the guy from... um..." Kurt's face looked guilty as he quickly glanced at her. Please, don't look at me like that. I don't want you to feel like you can't tell me things.    "the party we went to? Blaine?"

"Oh my god! The hot brunette guy?! Shit, he's gay? Or is he bi? I'm not giving up on him until I absolutely have to."   Mercedes replied. Kurt slapped her shoulder playfully.

"He's gay, I think. We haven't really discussed it yet."

Mercedes turned to the blonde, Quinn could see questions flying around in her eyes.   "Hey, Quinn. I don't know if this is, like... a weird thing to ask, but... are you a lesbian?"

Mercedes' curious eyes fell on her and the blonde felt cornered. She wondered if answering this question would make things better for her, or worse. She had been feeling so out of place lately. Rachel was... Rachel. Quinn didn't have a single doubt that her feelings for the brunette weren't entirely platonic. But she had liked boys before. Finn, Sam, Puck... they had all stolen her heart in one way or another. So maybe she wasn't gay at all. Maybe she only liked Rachel. Right?

"I'm not gay."    Mercedes looked surprised. Alright, not so intense.    "Um, no, it's fine, I guess. I just don't really know."    Quinn's face hung low, just dangling above her milkshake. She put the straw in her mouth and started drinking,  hoping it would send the message that she was done with this conversation.

"But... you like Rachel."

Guess it didn't work.

"Yes, I do. God, I don't know, Mercedes, can't you just leave me alone?"

The singer averted her eyes and Quinn felt a weight fall off her shoulders. Yes, she liked Rachel. But that didn't mean she was now a different person. She was still Quinn. Quinn who had a baby at 16 because she had sex with a boy. Quinn who could get every guy in school if she wanted to. God, I wish I wanted to. It would make everything so much easier.
