Quinn sighed happily. Stars were shining brightly in the sky, one star centered in the central, obviously burning the brightest of them all. It sparked as if it was trying to send her a message. The blonde looked beside her. There she layed. A small brunette, curled up in a ball, her head resting on the blonde's shoulder, only a throw pillow keeping them apart. Astrology and everything to do with the stars in the sky had always interested Quinn. Even though she was quite booksmart by nature and excelled in classes like science, the thought of studying something that she couldn't see or touch intrigued her. Art would always be her first love, but the stars certainly wouldn't be a bad plan B.
"Do you believe in astrology?" Quinn licked her lips as she turned to Rachel. The blonde couldn't help but stare at her as her face morphed into different shapes, who seemed deep in thought.
"It can't be that hard of a question." The blonde laughed.
"Okay, fine. I don't. I just didn't want to disappoint you." Rachel turned to her, shrugging. Quinn put on her best pout, getting a chuckle out of the brunette. "But you do believe in it?"
Quinn turned her eyes back to the sky. "Definitely. What's your birthday, Rach?"
Rachel smiled sweetly. "December 18th. Why?"
Quinn's eyes widened. "You're a sagittarius? Oh, God, help me!"
The singer huffed, slapping the other girl on the shoulder hard. "Hey!"
"Ow! You're evil, see? It's the sagittarius in you." Quinn rubbed her shoulder, the pout quickly turning into a small smile.
The two girls laughed, falling into each other.
"I'm glad we can finally do this. Even if it has to be in private." The brunette whispered, stroking the blonde's cheek with her thumb.
"Rachel-" Quinn started, but got cut off by Rachel. "No, I don't mean it like that. I'm not ready yet, either."
Quinn sighed, leaning further into the other girl's touch. "Maybe it'd be easier if I had decent, more accepting parents."
Rachel shook her head. "I have two gay dads, which should probably ease my mind, but that doesn't necessarily make it less scary for me to come out. It's such a big change and the small fear that they won't take it well is always in the back of my head."
"Your dads are such great people, though. Like, fundamentally. They wouldn't hurt a fly."
The first time Quinn met Rachel's dads was when she took a short trip to the grocery store with Franny, who still lived at home then. In one of the aisles Franny accidentally bumped into Hiram, one of Rachel's dads, and to Quinn's big surprise, Franny's face lit up immediately. "Hi!" Her older sister exclaimed, and Quinn couldn't be quicker to turn around. (How does she even know them?!) The men spoke a few words with Franny before continuing on with theit shopping spree. Quinn turned to the other blonde with a look that could could kill. "Aren't those your friend from school's parents?" Franny said, smiling at Quinn. Quinn growled. "Rachel Berry is not my friend. She is nothing more than the bane of my existence." Franny raised an eyebrow at her. "Good lord, Quinn, why do you always have to be so dramatic about everything?"
When she could actually pay attention, Quinn found that Rachel mentioned her dads quite often in glee club. She imagined you would only do that if they were good men.
"Yeah, they are, aren't they?" Rachel pressed her lips together, holding back a smile. "How do you know, though?"
"I've seen them a few times." Quinn winked at her.
Rachel raised an eyebrow but didn't question. A comfortable silence fell over them. Until-
"I'm sorry, Quinn."
Something inside of Quinn cracked. No way Rachel already had enough of her after just a few days of being together.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm sorry for everything I did."
Quinn turned to Rachel, trying to make eye contact with her. She wiped some tears from the girl's eyes before she answered. "What do you mean?"
"Sorry for kissing that boy at the party. I know you saw and I know it hurt you. I'm sorry for running away when we kissed. It's just... I'm not wired normally, okay? This is all really intense for me. I don't mean to hurt you, it just happens before I can really think my actions through. If I could change myself, I would, trust me..." The singer whimpered, grabbing Quinn's hand, who now had tears in her eyes as well.
"I mean, I'm not going to say it didn't hurt, because it did. And I'm not going to act like it doesn't matter anymore, because it does. But I also know that all of this wasn't easy on either of us. And I know you're... sick, I guess, for lack of a better word." Quinn swallowed. "It's really not easy. But I want to move on from all of that."
Rachel nodded at her. "Me too."
(this is simply a small filler part until I have some more motivation to continue. I was surprised to find out people still read this fic :) It means a lot to me that people like it though so I'm determined to update it more often! again, sorry if this is a little short but I wrote it in one run because I wanted to push a chapter out tonight.
