So I'm gonna write this chapter entirely from Quinn's POV! I'm not really that good at writing from someone's POV but I'll try my best lol.

The nerves shot through my body. The window seemed invisible as I looked at Rachel's fathers through it. Their eyes quite unreadable, their hands intertwined. At least she has supportive parents. The door creaked, earning a silent but bearable cringe from one of the Berry men, when I walked in, and suddenly I seemed to lose all words. I mean, this was it right? Here they were, Rachel's dads. Who probably know all about how I treated their daughter for years. I imagined what they could be thinking while looking at the possible reason their daughter is even in this very position right now.

One of the men's eyes filled with tears. His eyes still looked unreadable, but emotion shined through like a diamond, about to tumble down a building. I expected a yell, maybe even a slap. I wouldn't have blamed them, after all, this had been all my fault.

But they hadn't.

"I didn't know she had a friend."

The tallest of the two choked out after a minute of silence. It was all it took. Tears kept coming, I let them stream. How I wish I had been her friend, when she needed one the most.

Rachel's hand felt especially warm that day. I had been told by doctor Green that it had been a good sign. I didn't know what it meant, but I held on to that hope and her hand with all I had for the next few hours. She was still breathing so beautifully, so peacefully.

Rachel's dads, who I'd learned had been Ben and Thomas, went to go have lunch. Not before they'd made sure they'd be alarmed immediately if there was any change on their daughter's condition, of course. The closing of the door sounded harder than it probably should've, and I was so grateful for the ticking of the clock breaking up the horrific silence. Still she layed there. Untouched. I fell asleep, the girl's hand still tightly clutched in mine.

"Q-Quinn?"
It was barely audible. But I heard it.
Opening my eyes, Rachel was there. Heavily breathing, her voice hardly hearable, but she was there, and she was alive.
Tubes and wires everywhere stopped me from holding her and never letting her go, but when Rachel's thumb very slowly wiped away the tears that were still flowing freely down my cheeks, it all stopped mattering. No words were needed for a few second, just two girls, glad they weren't alone anymore.

Sorry if this sucks lmao i'm just so tired y'know but i miss them. Also I did not proof read this, neither did anyone else, so potential grammatical mistakes are on me 🤪
