Days flew by faster and faster, and soon enough, the end of Quinn's break came in sight. The blonde wasn't exactly looking forward to it, to say the least. Her skyrocketing grades and amazing behaviour made her the teacher's pet in almost every single class she took, but that was about it for her. Besides Brittany and Santana she didn't really have anyone to talk to. She sat at the jock and cheerleaders table during lunch every day, but the empty silence made her feel like she never truly belonged there. Sure, she was in Glee club now too, but she definitely could not afford to sit with them.

As Quinn shut the door of her car violently, a familiar head of hair sprung into her sight. She sighed and quickly started walking toward's the entrance of the school. She was not quite ready to deal with this yet.

"Quinn! Hey, Quinn, wait!"

The blonde fastened her pace, but the voice came closer and closer until-

"Quinn."

She felt a sharp pain in her shoulder, and turned to see him standing there with the stupidest grin she'd ever seen plastered on his face.

"Didn't your mom tell you not to hit girls, Finn?!"

Finn raised a single eyebrow and shrugged at Quinn.

"I didn't exactly hit you, though."

"What do you want?"

"I just wanted to ask... how was your break? Did you do anything special?"

Quinn raised her eyebrows at the boy. She folded her arms together and tilted her head to the left.

"It was fine. Nothing special. How about you?"

"M-Me neither. Nice, though... that your break was nice."

"But really, what do you want, Finn?"

Finn scratched the top of his head and licked his lip. God, Quinn was getting impatient. The fact that her first school day started off like this didn't really improve her mood.

"I just wanted to ask... Have you gone to see Rachel lately?"

Quinn swallowed. She knew someone would ask the question sooner or later, but she wasn't expecting it to come from Finn.

"Well, if you must know... I haven't. Not since she got released from the hospital... not that you'd care."

Finn nodded at the cheerleader, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"She asked about you, you know. I know she hasn't quite forgiven you yet, but she knows you're trying."

Finn gave her one last look before strutting away slowly, leaving Quinn alone in front of the school entrance. She looked around and no one seemed to be paying attention, so she walked in. The blonde walked through hallway after hallway, her head spinning. She didn't think Rachel would ever want to see her ever again. Not that she'd blame her.

Quinn walked into the classroom and sat down, not paying attention to the rest of the class.

"Um, Quinn- class started 5 minutes ago." Kurt whispered into her ear.

"Not that I'd ever admit this to her, but Mercedes' choices in outfits have significantly improved this year."

"Why wouldn't you admit that?"

"She has to believe I still hate them, or she'll get lazy."

Kurt lazily slurped on his can of Coke, eyeing Quinn from across the table. He put it down and rested his hand on top of hers.

"What's with the long face, Fabray?"

Quinn still had a hard time opening up to the Glee kids, even though they'd been (kind of, since Quinn still had to slushee them on occassion) friends for a while now. The cheerleader had grown up with strict and religious parents, so talking about your feelings really wasn't that appropriate. Unless they were about Jesus, of course. They really applauded you if you talked about Jesus.

"Nothing. Hardly slept... tired." Quinn yawned and Tina and Kurt looked at each other suspiciously.

"How come?"

"Take a wild guess, Kurt."

He nodded, his compassionate eyes locking with hers.

"Rachel, right?"

Quinn nodded back, sitting back up a bit. She could tell by his body language that he was about to give a speech, and she was mentally preparing herself already.

"Listen, Rachel is a complicated girl, sure, but she's also practical. You want her to like you, right?-"

Quinn's heart sped up a bit at the word 'like', but she kept listening.

"- Then give her a reason to! Show her you're really sorry. You can apologize a thousand times, but actions speak louder than words. Plus... they're more romantic." Kurt smirked before taking another sip from his drink.

"I don't like her like that, though. I just care about her, that's all."

"Yeah, sure, whatever you say..."

Quinn rolled her eyes, sitting straight and looking him right in the eye.

"I'm not gay."

Kurt smiled at her, a hand resting on her back.

"Sure, Quinn. And I'm fine with that."

He may have not actually spoken the words, but Quinn heard the silent "For now" in his voice, and she didn't like it to say the least.
But, the hand stayed on her back until the bell rang, and the blonde found comfort in that. Maybe the boy pushed her to say or do things she couldn't yet, but he could end up being a friend. A support system. And for now, that was good enough for her.
