DONT YOU GUYS LOVE ME ?? 😏😏

Lauren had been dreading the arrival of Monday. Two of the people that she least wanted to face in the world would be an integral part of her every day life for the next few months.

And there was nothing she could do about it.

She spotted Normani almost immediately upon entering the set. The director was shaking her head at something someone had said. Lauren couldn't hear what was being said, but she figured it had to do with the lights because Normani kept looking up and pointing.

Lauren kept her distance, not wishing to make her arrival known. She doubted she could keep that up for too long, however.

The guy Normani had been speaking to walked away, and someone else approached the director. They exchanged a couple of words. And after a nod from Normani, the crewmember walked off.

Lauren watched quietly from the side wall, wondering what she would say to the director once they were face to face.

Should she mention what had happened? Ignore it? Apologize?

The director chose that moment to turn around, and their gazes met. To Lauren's surprise, Normani started walking toward her.

"Feeling better?" Normani asked once they were close enough to each other.

Lauren glanced up, surprised. "I'm sorry?"

"You looked really upset on Friday," Normani answered.

Julianne stared into brown eyes for a moment. "It's.... it's complicated." She cleared her throat. "I'm really sorry about what happened. I shouldn't have agreed to go out with you and then slammed the door in your face. It wasn't right."

Normani looked around, and then stepped closer to Lauren . "I know you warned me to stay away and all, but taking advice isn't one of my strong suits." She smiled and shrugged. "So if you ever want to talk ..."

Lauren bit her lip, unsure of what to say to that. "I'm not ... I've never ... I don't ..."

Finally, she gave up trying to speak.
Normani looked away. "Ally told you, didn't she?"

"No!" Lauren answered. "Well, kind of ... but that has nothing to do with why I'm incoherent."

"Then?"

Lauren sighed. "It's a long story..."

Normani pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear and gazed expectantly at the actress. "Do I get to hear it sometime?"

Lauren wasn't sure what was going on. Did Normani know she was gay? Did she not know? "Maybe," she answered. "I mean, yes, if you really want to."

The director smiled. "I was kind of freaked out that Ally had warned you about me and that's why you'd changed your mind on Friday."

"No," Lauren answered, guessing that Ally hadn't told Normani about her after all.

So, what had Friday night been about?

"I'd ... known before."

Surprise passed across Normani's features. Then she nodded. "Well, I'd like to hear your long story sometime. I'm told I'm a good listener."
Lauren smiled. "You're on."

Normani smiled back and excused herself before returning to work.

For a moment, Lauren had completely forgotten they'd been standing in the middle of a busy film set.
