So move in a little closer,
Then you can think it over,
Just try to see it my way.
Think it over,
Just try to see it my way.

[Macie]

Nick and I barely spoke all the way home. When we got to the house, the kids had already gotten ready for bed since they had school the next day and my mother was popping open some champagne to celebrate.

Neither Nick or I felt like celebrating.

I immediately went to my room to shower and get out of my clothes. I wasn't in the celebrating mood since Nick was set on throwing his future away because some industry guy doesn't think I should be in Nick's movie.

I've been 'bigger' my entire life. I weighed nine pounds when I was born where as my sister weighed just over six. I started wearing a training bra in second grade and in middle school, I was taller than all the boys and girls in seventh grade. I'm used to it. I'm used to being type casted and even though I'm tired of it, I've come to accept it.

I just, I don't know why Nick can't accept it.

"What do you mean they want a new lead actress?" Jane asked as Nick sat in the living room, looking at the glass of champagne that he was holding. "Macie was great in that role. It was nothing like what she does on that show of hers."

"It's her size, isn't it?" Cindy asked as Nick looked at her, nodding.

"They said that a real pop star like the character in the movie, well, it would be more believable if there was another actress because Macie's not as small as Britney or Christina," Nick said, gulping down the champagne. He sat the glass on the coffee table in front of him and sighed. "That's the only way they're going to buy the movie is if we get a new lead actress and reshoot it with a bigger budget."

"That's just shitty," Jane said, shaking her head. "You two did such a good job on this movie. How much did you two spend making it?"

"I don't know the exact number, that's Macie's thing," Nick sighed. "And she's mad at me because I told the guy that I wasn't interested, but I'm not interested in tossing her aside for some skinny chick to play a role that Macie played perfectly. It has nothing to do with us being together, either. I would be the same way if I had just hired her to be in the movie."

"She's always been so self-conscious," Cindy sighed, standing up from her chair. "I think I'm going to go upstairs and talk to her."

Nick watched Cindy as she made her way to the staircase and sighed, looking at his own mother.

"Nick, Macie's great, but this is your chance," Jane said as Nick shook his head. "If Macie's okay with it, then I say go for it."

"She says she's okay with it, but she's not," Nick said, leaning back on the sofa. "I could tell by her reaction when the suit was saying that it hurt her and she's done too much for me to even consider it."

"Nick..."

"Maybe we'll get a call from another company," Nick sighed. "If Universal is interested, maybe another one will call Macie's manager tomorrow after talking it over with more suits, you know?"

"Macie," Cindy said as she opened the master bedroom door. She looked around, seeing the dress that Macie had on lying on the floor. "Sweetie..."

"Taking a bubble bath," Cindy heard Macie say as she walked over to the bathroom, opening the door to see Macie laying in a bubble bath, completely covered. "I just didn't want to really be around anybody."

"Nick told us," Cindy said, wiping the side of the huge tub off and sat down on the edge of it. "I'm sorry that they told him that in front of you..."
