When you love someone - you'll feel it deep inside
and nothin else can ever change your mind
when you want someone - when you need someone
when you need someone...[Macie]
It's sad, but I've never been so happy in my entire life.
Today, "Cover Girl," my first real headlining show starts production. Yesterday Nick signed a deal with Warner Brothers to release his film as is with just a few tweaks to the sound and music in the movie. The day before, I found out that I'm going to be hosting "Saturday Night Live" in a few weeks.
I don't think my life could get much better than this.
This time last year, I never thought I would find a guy like Nick who cared about me as much as he does and loves me for who I am, not what I am or how I look. I never thought I would ever date a guy with kids and have a built in family, but I do and I love it. I don't think I could love Zach and Zoey anymore than if they were my own.
Even Nick's mother said during Christmas when she was here that she could see what an effect I'm having on their lives and Nick's life. I was really afraid she wasn't going to like me, but she warmed up to me and I think she's awesome. Even my mother likes Nick.
Sure, she didn't at first and was concerned because he had two kids and only a part-time job, but she saw the movie and saw how much we cared about one another and I think that changed her opinion of him. I think him taking up for me with that movie executive proved to her that he loved me. And the fact that she was proud of me for my performance in the movie was the first time she had ever told me anything like that... ever.
I just don't know if my life could get any better than this.

Macie stood in the kitchen that morning, eating a piece of toast, her favorite breakfast food, as Zoey and Zach sat at the kitchen counter. Zoey was busy looking over her Biology notes for her big exam that day and Zach was playing a game on his iPhone that he had gotten for Christmas.
She reached for her chocolate milk, taking a sip and smiled, feeling someone come up behind her, kissing her on the neck.
"Ready for work Mr. Technical Director?" Macie asked, looking back at Nick who was grinning.
"I still can't believe Brian gave me that promotion," Nick said, grabbing a glass and pouring some orange juice in it.
"What does a Technical Director do? Do you still do camera work?" Zach asked as Nick shook his head.
"Basically I'm in another room and not on the set and when the director calls a camera number, I hit the button and that's what camera shows up on the screen. It's the next step up to being a director but in Television, it takes a while to get to that point," Nick said as Zach nodded. "I still say that it's because I'm the only camera guy left that didn't get a full-time gig."
"You know it's because he saw how good you did with the movie," Macie said as Nick smiled. "Guys, you better get going or you're going to be late for school."
"What time are you coming in?" Nick asked as Macie looked at the clock on the wall. "Ten?" She nodded and he smiled, leaning over the counter to kiss her.
Macie told the kids goodbye as they walked through the kitchen with Nick who was going to drop them off to school before heading to the studio. She sighed, reaching for their plates, raking their leftover food in the trash before putting the dishes in the dish washer.
Today was the first day of the rest of her life. She was the star of her own television show and here she was, acting like a normal 27-year-old who had two kids... and she loved it.
