And the moon is out and the stars are bright
and whatever comes is gonna be alright
'cause tonight you will be mine, up on cloud number nine
and there ain't no place that I'd rather be
and we can't go back but you're here with me
yeah, the weather is really fine, up on cloud number nine

"Thanks Mrs. Montgomery," Zach said as he shut the car door to his friend's mother's car that next morning. He started walking up the doorsteps to Macie's house and looked back, seeing the car drive away. His friend's grandmother died during the night and he really didn't want to drive to somewhere in Nevada to some old dead woman's house.

Plus, he knew his father would kick his ass if he did.

He took the key that Macie had given him out of his backpack and unlocked the door the way that she told him so that the alarm wouldn't go off. He cringed as he opened the door and sighed when the alarm really didn't go off. He put the key back in his backpack and shut the door, locking it back.

He made his way up the staircase, looking over to see Macie's door open a little. He walked down to his room and opened the door, tossing his backpack on the bed.

"I guess I should tell Dad I'm home," he muttered to himself as he walked out of his room and up to Nick's door. He opened the door to Nick's room slowly and froze, seeing the bed was already made and empty. There was no way Nick was gone anywhere because the SUV was in the driveway.

Zach slowly walked out of Nick's room and looked down the hallway to Macie's room. He pressed his lips together and started walking slowly down to Macie's room. This is what he and his sister wanted to happen. They wanted their father to get with Macie, but did it really happen?

He stuck his head in the door and his eyes opened wide, seeing Nick and Macie in bed together, with Nick cuddled up behind her, his arm wrapped around her. Zach eased his way into the room without opening the door further. He looked down on the floor to see his father's pajama pants, Macie's tank top and panties and one, make that two, condom wrappers.

"Yes!" Zach shouted, jumping up on the bed and started jumping up and down.

"What the..." Nick muttered as he lifted his head to see Zach standing on the bed. "Zach, what the hell are you doing?" he asked as Macie lifted her head up, seeing Zach and slowly lifted the cover over her head. "When did you get home?"

"Oliver's grandma died so I had to come home," Zach smiled, rubbing his hands together. "So does this mean I can paint my room now and get new carpeting? I have this design in my head..."

"Zach..." Nick muttered, sitting up in bed and glaring at his son.

"Good morning, Macie," Zach grinned as Macie stuck her hand out, giving him a little wave. "So does this mean that Macie's going to be our new Mom because that would rock. I've always lied to people and told them my Mom was famous and that's why she wasn't around."

"Zach...." Nick muttered again as Zach jumped off the bed, still grinning from ear to ear.

"I'll leave you two alone," Zach smiled, walking out of Macie's room and shutting the door behind him.

Nick ran his hands over his face and looked down at Macie and she moved the cover from her face. She had a smile on her face and immediately started to laugh, sitting up in bed beside him. Nick didn't know what to say about Zach or what to do.

"It's okay, Nick," Macie smiled, pushing her hair out of her face. She looked at him and started to laugh. "I mean, the kids wanted us to get together so him being excited is fine. It's funny."

"Not exactly how I planned on waking you up," Nick said, looking over at her. "Feel any different?"

"I feel new, does that make sense?" she whispered as Nick smiled, leaning over to kiss her lips softly. "You should probably go talk to him."
