James made his way to upper Manhattan on his skateboard. He found Morgan's house very easy as it was the most luxurious and expensive building in New York. The security guard greeted him. Then James went downstairs, to Morgan's workshop. "Morgan are you in here?" He shouted. In the workshop there were tones of wires and machines that James had never seen in his life. Finding a girl as petite as Morgan in that mess was impossible.
The brunette came out of a box which was under a big table. "Hi James," She said with a big smile and her bright blue eyes shining. But the smile soon got erased from her face as soon as she saw what James was holding. "What are you doing with your father's gun?" Morgan asked. James put his hand in front of her mouth.
"Please don't freak out. I need some help. Do you know how to get in a multimillion secret organization without getting caught?". James asked looking anxious about Morgan's answer.
Morgan's eyes widened and started laughing. "Of course, I can! Why do you want to hack a secret organization? Oh no. Why do you want to hack the ARK again? I thought you wouldn't do it again!"
James was tapping his foot on the floor. "I need some information about the Russian mafia. They are all over the news. They have stolen some guns and I want to get them back."
Morgan was trying to process what James said. "Are you crazy?" She did not wait for his answer. "Of course you are crazy! I am sorry but I can't help you"
"Come on Morgan! I will owe you one!" He begged her. Morgan nodded in disagreement.
"James, it's dangerous. I don't want you to get in trouble with your parents for the millionth time" She confessed.
A bit disappointed James got up from the chair he was sitting on. "Fine, I'll do it on my own." James took his computer and left.
He went a few blocks away and sat in a café. There he managed to get the information he needed. He found the address of the house where the mafia was staying. He rode there by his skateboard.
Being only a teenager, he did not know how to destroy the Russian Mafia. He blasted the door open. Behind the door there was a room filled with Russians. With Russians who had guns and knives and they were not afraid to use them against a sixteen-year-old.
He managed to punch only one Russian in the guts before a Russian twice his size knocked him unconscious. James had an awful body balance. One punch on his jaw was more than enough to make him lose his senses.
The next thing James remembers us waking up in his room. His father was sitting in his desk chair with a serious yet sad look on his face. "How did you find me?". James questioned, talking with slow and hesitant voice, as he his parents would ground him for a while.
"Morgan came and told us what you wanted to do when you left her house. I tried to find you before you actually tried to pick a fight with the Russians. But as soon as I came and found you unconscious on the floor, with the Russians gone. You should be grateful they did not try to test if you are bulletproof. My one question. Why would you do such thing?" He asked with a calm voice.
Although his head was fuzzy James got up. He was holding his bed for support. "My life is a lie! I discovered that my parents own a secret organization and were secret agents! I thought I had a normal life! I was angry. I wanted to feel special and get it back to you." He complained.
His father did not yell. A small smile formed on his lips. "You are special James. Very special. But you had to talk to us. That is what we always do. We solve our problems by talking. Not by getting punched in the face and chasing after the people of the Russian Mafia."
James' mother rushed in the room. "I thought you would die James. Never do something like that! Ever again. I love you too much to lose you."
"I am fine mum. I am betrayed but you can explain yourselves later. I want to get some rest now." James fell asleep as soon as his parents left him alone. He woke up around 11 the next morning.
James thought his family was your average American Family. He had his father Mike who used to be in the Army for a long time, but he had retired. His mum Natalie was very secretive about her past and her personal life. James also had two younger sisters. Sarah who turned 11, 1 months ago and Maggie who was 3.
After he woke up, he decided to make himself French toast, his favourite breakfast. But then he remembered that his parents were keeping secrets from him and he got ballistic.
He started climbing the stairs as fast as he could, but his mother stopped him. "James, you are being ridiculous. I can explain everything to you." Natalie said to the most stubborn person on earth.
James was giving her the silent treatment. He had a raised eyebrow and a cold expression. "Tell me" he replied in the most monotonous tone.
"Before me and your father got married, I was a secret agent. And before that a trained assassin. In other words, I would do everything you asked me to do for money. I am not proud of my past. But when you came along, I could not go on missions and I was afraid that bad things would happen to you. Your father and I made the ARK because we wanted to make this world a better place. I want you to be safe and welcome."
"I don't get why you didn't tell me until now. You thought I would not figure it out? You think I am that Dumb?"
"James you were only a child. It is a big secret that would make you feel unsafe. We would tell you when the time was right. We wanted you to find out, but not in such way. Why were you searching government's secret organizations at the first place?"
"It's for a book I am writing. Why am I explaining myself to you? Forget it" James said and went to the basement. He was hitting the box bag very hard. This was his way to cope with everything. That day especially he needed to hit something pretty bad.
"James relax. You got hit by the Russian Mafia. My brave hero. You should take a break," Morgan said coming to the basement. With a sarcastic tone. "I hope you are not upset because I told them about the Russians"
"What? Of course not! My parents are being overprotective as usual. And it is getting on my nerves." He complained. "You could never do anything to upset me." He continued, and his face got a bit red.
After two seconds of them staring at each other Morgan replied "That's what parents do. They care too much. That is their job. You shouldn't be mad at for them being your parents." Morgan smiled. She leaned in and kissed James on his cheek.
"I am mad at them. They are always lecturing me that we have to tell everything to each other!" James said filled with sorrow.
Morgan raised her eyebrow "So you tell them what you and my brother are doing at school."
James got pale "No, God forbid, no. Not in a million years." he replied sounding petrified.
Morgan smiled, "See? They have the right to keep some things secret from you. You can't demand only the truth if you are lying to them."
"I guess you are right" James chuckled after he thought about it.
Morgan was changing the subject. "Anyway. I heard that 'The breakfast Club' is on Channel 6. Do you want to watch it?" She knew what she as asking as it was James' favourite movie.
Many believed that James was your average athlete. That he did not like a good movie. How wrong were they! James wanted to be a writer or an art judge. His favourite book was to Kill a Mockingbird and he had watched every movie in existence. Morgan was not that arts fanatic, but she would always go with James to MoMa's new exhibitions.
For Morgan, James' was the perfect guy. He was compassionate, smart, sweet, athletic, cultivated and he knew how to treat girls. But she never had the guts to say anything to him. He could have any girl he wanted, and she did not want to destroy their friendship.
"Of course and we are going to watch it. It's only the greatest movie of all time" James said with pride. If you dare to say a bad word for movies like 'the Breakfast Club' it is your funeral. Get ready to receive a lecture on how we should support the Arts by James. There is no joke about the relationship James has with the Arts.
The two of them sat on the couch and watched some television until it was time for Morgan to go home. James offered her to give her a ride, but she had already settled it.
James decided that he should go to sleep but his mother opened his bedroom door with a packed suitcase in her arms. "We have to go to Celestia as soon as possible. The king is dead"
